Harold was a friendly host, unfortunately the tour was poorly executed.
The problem started before the tour began.
We had two different groups in our tour. Approximately 90 minutes before the tour, Harold sent a message to me and another lady regarding dress code. I freaked out because one person in our group didn’t meet the dress code. We had to drive back to our Airbnb to change.
The other lady also messaged and said that one of their friends did not meet the dress code requirement.
I feel that Harold could’ve sent a message at least a day instead of waiting last minute.
Excited for the tour, we went to the address originally listed on the Airbnb. When we got there, I messaged Harold and found out we were at the wrong location to meet. I admit because I was very worried about the dress code requirement, I didn’t pay attention to the message Harold sent last minute. He had sent a new address to meet, but he never mentioned that this was a new location different than the original one listed. We wanted to go to the updated address right away, but Harold told us to stay. We found out later than the other group couldn’t get it to the bar because one of them did not meet the dress code.
Harold was trying to salvage the tour by trying to run two tour at the same time. I do sympathized him. He had to walk back and forth from two different bars. However, the planning made it inconvenient for my group, and I’m sure for the other group as well.
It’s unfortunate because I was very excited about the crawl based on the reviews. The idea of a secret bar crawl is great, but this was not well planned.
The locations of these bars are so far apart, my friends and I lost our buzz during our walks.
I’m giving Harold a 3 stars because I can see he was friendly and he definitely tried.
