Squaxin Park

Scenic park with forested trails, beach access, and a rose garden

Summarized by AI

At Squaxin Park you can wander miles of easy to moderate forest trails, experience a taste of temperate rainforest, and drop down a steep path to a Puget Sound beach that’s especially fun to explore at low tide. Bring a picnic for the many tables and covered cooking areas, let kids enjoy the playground, and stroll the rose garden and spring rhododendron blooms. Watch for old-growth timber, birds, and other wildlife as you hike loops like Ellis Cove Trail. Leashed dogs are welcome, views stretch to Bud Inlet, the Olympic Mountains, and the Capitol, and you’ll even find the “Telephone of the Wind” along a special, reflective walk—just don’t walk out on the deep mud at minus tides, and snap a photo of the trail map before you start exploring.
