Arts & Culture

If you have time take the 30 minute drive to check out Newport. So many great restaurants, (The Black Pearl, The Mooring), great beaches (first, second and third), and love the Cliff Walk for beautiful views of the ocean and the mansions. If you like history and architecture take a mansion tour (the Breakers, RoseCliff and Marble House are our favorites).

If it's a rainy day or need a break from the beach, take the 45 minute drive to Providence, the vibrant capital city of Rhode Island. There is also a bus that will bring you to the heart of the city if you don't have a car. Here you can view some beautiful architecture, history of RI, some of the universities that call RI home like Brown and RISD, and some of the best restaurants in the state. The cuisine in Providence rivals the restaurants in Boston and NY for a fraction of the cost. There is a reason it's topped quite a few lists of best little city in the country.

Sightseeing

The ferry to Block Island is only 1.5 miles from the house. Ride your bikes and take them over to Block Island. The fast ferry is only 30 minutes from Galilee. Enjoy biking the island (although it is rather hilly), go to the beaches, do some shopping, and eat at some tasty restaurants.
