Sunset View Bungalow

PeteRating, 5 stars1 week ago
My husband & I stayed at Sunset View for 5 weeks with our dog. This home was the respite we needed after 9-10 hour work days. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare great meals. The water was hot, the water pressure was great, and the king bed in the master en suite was incredibly comfortable. On our 3 days off each week we loved taking in the beautiful surroundings. It’s a gorgeous area & the house has tons of windows. We could barely hear our neighbor in the downstairs apartment. Adjusting the temperature so that each unit was comfortable was not a big deal at all. We quickly received Amazon packages without a hitch. We found a great little food co-op & hair salon in the little town of Lovettsville. The road the house is on isn’t paved, but it’s wide enough for 2-way traffic & you’re not teetering off of a cliff like some we looked at in the area. Jenni responds immediately if you have any questions. We will definitely stay again!

Blue Ridge Traveler's Paradise

We really enjoyed our stay at Shayna’s place. She is a wonderful host who has thought of everything guests need to make their stay comfortable. Upon arrival, there were snacks on the kitchen counter. This was a nice treat after a long car ride! The beds were comfortable and we all slept very well during our stay. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided as well, and the place was very clean and uncluttered. We enjoyed the games and puzzles in the evenings. And the fenced yard is perfect for those traveling with their dogs! We will definitely be returning to this Airbnb in the future.

We have stayed at several airBnB’s in the past, BUT this one by far is five star in our opinion. So comfortable and beautiful. They had every thing there that you could possibly need or want. Breathtaking starry skies with views of the Milky Way . Immaculate grounds in a gated private area. The surrounding mountains are breathtaking. Very detailed, well constructed well thought out, generous, great host we can’t wait to go back. It was the perfect country vacation for us.

The Great Escape Lodge ~ Exquisite Mountain Views

TaraRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Let me just say that our stay at Heather‘s property was absolutely amazing. It was me and my daughters get away. We were able to enjoy the hot tub. The temperature was perfect. When you woke up you could see all of the pastures for miles the drive in and out all you seen was animals and cows and these really giant Bull looking things that didn’t even look real with giant horns. It was so cool. I really hope we are able to come and stay again because it was definitely an unforgettable experience that I would love to do again in the future. If Heather would have us the house was clean it was decorated for Christmas. It really just made us both feel so at home. And it was huge for just the two of us. Our friends were supposed to meet us there, but they didn’t end up coming so for just me and my daughter it was everything

All About Harpers Ferry

Located on the easternmost edge of West Virginia, Harpers Ferry sits at the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers, just across the water from Virginia and Maryland. The town is surrounded by the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, with walking trails and Civil War-era battlefield sites. The John Brown Wax Museum, Industry Museum, and Meriwether Lewis Exhibit are also right in town, giving you a window into local history, such as the way 19th-century weapons factories played a role in the Lewis and Clark Expedition and Harpers Ferry Raid.

Although the primary draw to Harpers Ferry continues to be its historical significance, today the town is known for its surrounding natural beauty and rolling hills full of chestnut oak and bitternut hickory forests. The famous 2,000-mile Appalachian Trail, which stretches from Maine to Georgia, cuts through the town center, and many hikers like to rest in Harpers Ferry for a spell to recover.

The inland northern climate of Harpers Ferry has weather conditions that vary drastically with the seasons. Summers are pleasantly warm with moderately dry conditions that make for enjoyable hiking weather while exploring the region’s historical sites and local sections of the Appalachian Trail. May through September is an excellent time to book a cabin in Harpers Ferry, as the weather is also conducive to checking out the surrounding communities of D.C. and Baltimore.

Winters see temperatures that drop to consistently below-freezing levels, accompanied by moderate snowfall and precipitation above the national average. The shoulder seasons can be a wonderful time to visit, too, particularly the fall, as the surrounding hills are endowed with brilliant autumn hues, and you can find events like the Blue Ridge Arts & Crafts Festival taking place in October.
