Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
Discover peace, tranquility and calm at this unique and serene getaway with spectacular views out to sea and over the adjoining river which flows into the sea. It is located above my wildlife photography studio and next to an old flour mill . This location is enhanced by being close to the Butter Walk and also within walking distance of Schull ( across a beach when the tide is low). It is a self contained 1 bedroom apartment with a spacious kitchen and sitting room area and has free wi-fi.

The space
This is a unique property with unrivalled views of the sea, the river and the garden. The bedroom with double bed is en suite with shower room and toilet. It may be on the small size but the really spacious kitchen and large sitting room more than compensates for this. The well equipped kitchen has a fridge with freezer box, cooker, microwave, and coffee machine. There is also a hair drier, binoculars for watching wildlife, local guidebooks and cosy places to curl up on.

Guest access
The guests are welcome to make full use of the garden and the numerous seats in various parts of the garden designed to encourage relaxation, time to observe nature and bask in the sun. The large garden runs alongside the river at the back and next to the sea at the front. If you have your own kayak you can launch it from the slipway in the front garden. The front garden provides easy access to the sea for those who would like to swim. There is also a safe sheltered swimming beach only a short stroll away.

Other things to note
The accommodation is on the site of an old wool carding mill and next to an old flour mill. The machinery and overshot wheel are still in place. There is an abundance of wildlife being next to a river and beside the sea. Frequent visitors include otters, seals, herons, swans, and kingfisher to mention but a few. This location is further enhanced by being close to the Butter Walk which was once a road used to transport butter to Cork. The property is bright, clean, relaxing and calm and the location is a wonderful mix of solitude and convenience. There is everything you need to self-cater but there are also plenty of places to eat a short drive or walk away. Schull is so close with its grocery store, shops, and restaurants. There are ferries from Schull and Baltimore to the various islands offshore as well as to the Fastnet Rock.
