Welcome to Meadow & Moor: On safari- Devon style- with your furry Alpaca neighbours!

Escape the crowds to your own meadow with a geodesic dome, distant sea views, and grazing alpacas. Enjoy the fun of camping with added hotel-style comforts: a king-size bed, en-suite with shower, and flushing toilet-all contained within the dome, so no midnight dashes outside!

Soak under the stars in twin sunken baths, then toast marshmallows by the fire. Extra guests? Our cosy wagon ‘Marigold’ awaits.

The space
A long small track hedged by ferns & wildflowers leads to the carpark where you will find a wheelbarrow for your luggage. Walk down past our stables and hen house to find your field with outdoor kitchen, fire pit and geodesic dome tent.

New for 2025; we have added an additional spare room! Introducing our cosy wagon 'Marigold' with sofa that folds out into a small double bed. Perfect extra bed for grandparents or teenagers! Please book as an extra person/bed- for bedding. Otherwise feel free to use it as a reading nook over looking the meadow. Your space is set within 1 acre and you will have sole use of the dome, outdoor kitchen and fire pit, wagon with the picnic table and hammock.

The dome is self contained with zoned areas around the en-suite bathroom in a central wooden pod. A lounge area with chair beds and drinks trolley, record player with USB port and reading nook and king size bed at the centre. Outside on the deck overlooking the alpaca field we have two outdoor sunken baths with running hot or cold water, so not the traditional hot tubs with jets etc. They are to be used as hot tubs i.e. with swim wear!

The dome is off grid powered by solar panels, there are electric sockets and charging points, but as it is powered by solar only we suggest leaving the hair dryer and iron at home!

A short walk to the field kitchen where you will find an outdoor dining table, drinking water tap, x 2 gas burner camping stoves, fridge / freezer, kettle and gas + charcoal BBQ.

The rest of our small holding, is a further 4 acres where there is daily activity including feeding alpaca's & chickens, gardening and other rural farming activities and noises- whilst you have your own space, one of our alpaca fields is situated directly in front of the dome- so don't be alarmed to see one of us feeding or mucking out the alpaca's during your stay. We can be on hand to answer any questions during your stay- if you see us give us a wave. We won't disturb you if you want to be left alone!

Access to our glamping field at Meadow and Moor is via a small hedge lined track and not suitable for caravans or any vehicle larger that a standard car or van.

Guest access
Guests have sole use of geo-dome and glamping field with outdoor kitchen and firepit, wagon and picnic table and hammock.

Shared carpark and shared access to alpaca field by the dome, and chicken run with ourselves and the alpaca owners.

We are a small holding so there are certain restricted areas that are private to us with strictly no access to guests.

Other things to note
Unfortunately due to the high spec interior and height of decked terrace the dome is only suitable for children over 5 years.

Whilst you have sole access to your private field and dome, neighbours live nearby set within their own fields and horses but have separate access.

**WILDFIRE WARNING UPDATE- August 2025**

The fields are very dry right now, and the risk of fire is high. If you’re having a campfire in the fire pit, please watch the wind conditions and only burn logs or wood. Avoid using paper or cardboard, as burning embers can easily drift away.

If you’re smoking outside, make sure cigarette ends are fully put out and dispose of them in the fire pit or a bin.

Recently, a wildfire in the local area was started by just a single spark from a ride-on lawnmower. To keep everyone safe, we all need to take extra care.

Thanks so much for your understanding and cooperation.

Neighborhood highlights

Situated within a little patch of wild between the two towns of Torquay and Newton Abbot in Devon. We are close to amenities but secluded enough to feel away from the main tourist trail. Stokeinteignhead is closest for the village shop (a 5 min drive) and for a bigger shop the larger supermarkets and retail parks also only a 5 minute drive away.

We love the wildlife we have on our doorstep, we often hear owls, see bats, badgers, fox, deer and birds of prey. We also have super clear night skies for star gazing. And if you want to get away from the holiday crowds we have direct access onto quiet lanes and bridle paths perfect for long rambles and bike rides. Walk to nearby pub The Linney in Coffinswell- 20 minute walk. Longer hikes available across fields and tracks to the Coombe Cellars and the Wild Goose in Combeinteignhead.

There are plenty of beaches and coves nearby for exploring, our nearest beach Maidencombe is an 8 min drive. Babbacombe, Torquay, Paignton, Teignmouth and Shaldon all within 10-20 min drive away.

Dartmoor is also a 20 -30 min drive with plenty or rugged rambles and country pubs and tea rooms showcasing the classic Devon Cream tea!
