The space
Isla Bandera offers an exclusive sanctuary where comfort meets the raw beauty of the Caribbean. Wake up to oceanfront views, explore the mangroves by kayak, or swim beneath a starlit sky that sometimes glows with bioluminescent plankton, a magical natural wonder visible on the right nights. For modern convenience, the island is equipped with Starlink Wi-Fi, allowing you to stay connected if needed. Please keep in mind, however, that being on a remote island means signal can occasionally be affected by weather conditions.. With spacious suites, shaded kiosks, and room for up to 16 guests, the island is designed for both relaxation and connection. Here, time slows down and every detail invites you to savor the moment.

Getting Here:
The island is located near Tintipán Island in the San Bernardo Islands. Guests arrive by private boat:

~40 minutes from Tolú

Guest access
The island is rented as one property. You and your group will have full and exclusive access.
Our staff will be available throughout your stay to prepare meals, provide housekeeping, and assist with excursions.

1. How do we get to Isla Bandera?
Guests arrive by private boat. We can arrange transfers from Cartagena (1.5–2 hours) or from Rincón del Mar (40 minutes). A private boat costs 6,000,000 COP ($1,580 USD) round trip and is available for your group’s use during the stay.
2. Are meals included?
Meals are not included in the nightly rate. Full board (3 meals per day) is provided at 150,000 COP ($40 USD) per person, per day. Our chef prepares fresh seafood, tropical fruits, and Caribbean dishes. Vegetarian or special menus can be arranged upon request.
3. What about drinks?
Non-alcoholic drinks (water, juices, sodas) are included with meals. Alcoholic beverages are not included. Guests are welcome to bring their own liquor, wine, or beer.
4. How many guests can stay?
The island accommodates up to 16 guests comfortably, across 2 oceanfront suites and 3 guest rooms.
5. Is there Wi-Fi on the island?
The island is equipped with Starlink Wi-Fi, allowing you to stay connected if needed. Please keep in mind, however, that being on a remote island means signal can occasionally be affected by weather conditions.
6. Is electricity available?
Yes. The island runs on solar energy. We encourage mindful use of electricity and water during your stay.
7. Can we invite additional visitors?
Only registered guests are allowed on the island. Outside visitors must be approved in advance.
8. What activities are available?
Night swim with bioluminescent plankton (depending on weather and moon); snorkeling and paddleboards (included); boat rides to nearby islands (included with the Eclipse boat); visit to Santa Cruz del Islote, the most densely populated island in the world (10,000 COP per person, paid directly on the island to the local community).
9. Is the island child-friendly?
Yes. Families with children are welcome. Please note that the island is surrounded by water and supervision is required for young children.
10. Can I host an event or celebration?
Yes, Isla Bandera is ideal for intimate weddings, birthdays, or private retreats. Please let us know in advance to help with arrangements.
11. Can we see the plankton (bioluminescence)?
Yes! On certain nights, the waters around Isla Bandera sparkle with bioluminescent plankton, a truly unforgettable experience. ✨ Visibility depends on the moonlight and sky conditions, so we cannot guarantee it every night, but when the conditions are right, it’s pure magic.
