The space
Located within Rowntree Wharf, a listed Victorian building on the river Foss, and significant York landmark, that was once Rowntree’s cocoa bean warehouse, Joseph is the ideal space for those wishing to explore the city, or to enjoy a cosy night in.

Joseph is one of three individually designed studio apartments by I Should Cocoa York, situated within York’s historic city walls.

Complete with free on-site car parking, this generous studio apartment provides easy access to the city’s many tourist attractions, bars, and restaurants, whilst offering guests a peaceful riverside haven to retreat to at the end of a busy day.

The apartment benefits from a double bed, with 100% Egyptian cotton linen, comfortable seating area, stylish shower room, and well equipped kitchen.

The apartment also provides free wifi, ideal for those visiting for work, a Bluetooth speaker, and a Smart TV, great for those cosy nights in.

You can start your walk around the medieval city walls just a few steps from the apartment, or you can take a 15 minute stroll along the streets of York to the magnificent York Minster, whilst the Jorvik Viking Centre is just an 8 minutes walk, taking in the sights of The Shambles along the way.

Having travelled extensively throughout Europe, we wanted to create a space that we would want to stay in. As vegans, and beer lovers, we have always found ourselves straying from the well trodden tourist path in search of local food and drink experiences. We love to walk the backstreets of great cities and discover their forgotten corners. Our aim is to create a base that will help others to discover a ‘locals’ York. A York of snickleways, hidden treasures, and spectacular views. We hope you enjoy ‘our’ York.
