The cozy little cabin is a one room small cabin built partly in the late 1800 located up in between steep mountains in a small meadow. It is a perfect place to disconnect, enjoy the silence while attractions like Ålesund and the Geiranger fjord is only a short drive away. It is a perfect getaway for relaxing, hiking and simply enjoying life. You get to enjoy the simplicity of life while in a cabin where we have mixed the old and the new to make your stay as memorable as possible.

The space
When you arrive at the cabin you are met with a small yet cozy room. The cabin is equipped with the most essential for your stay, but there is no electricity or running water so there is no big house hold appliances. We have provided a small gas stove, a bbq that you can bring outdoors and use with either the provided firewood or you can bring your own charcoal. The kitchen has all you need to make a nice camping meal and you can eat either outside with the camping chairs or inside at the dining table and enjoy the view of the nearby mountains. The room has a 150 bed and we can provide either a 90 bed for the floor or a travel crib for babies/toddlers if needed. In the kitchen cabinet is all the washing supplies needed, including a small basin for washing the dishes. We have also provided some games and a few books for entertaining during the evening.
The toilet facility is a nice "traditional outhouse" located only a short walk (50m) behind the cabin.

Other things to note
We recommend bringing a fully charged power bank for your phone and camera since there is no electricity at the premecis.

If you feel like doing other activities while in Sykkylven, we offer kaiak rental and farmvisits. More information can be found at our social media pages, search for Sølmongården/solmongarden, here you can also find a link to our homepage.

The road up to the cabin is a toll road where you pay a small fee to pass through a gate at the start of the drive up. This is the owners way to cover some of the cost of road maintenance.

Where you’ll be

Sykkylven, Møre og Romsdal, Norway

The cabin is located in a small "village" of similar wooden cabins surrounded by open space and a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains, there is a stream about a 10 minutes walk from the cabin and a lot of hiking possibilities. It is a quiet place where you can disconnect from the world and relax. The cabin has no wifi and cell reception is only in a few places.
