About me

I’m Meymuna, founder of Flavors from Afar, a social-enterprise restaurant. I help create spaces for refugee and immigrant communities to share their stories through food, art, and cultural traditions. Since opening our Little Ethiopia restaurant in 2020, we’ve trained and employed over 25 refugee chefs and earned Bib Gourmand status from the Michelin Guide. Join me at our new East Hollywood location while you’re in town for an evening where each dish tells a story of connection and community.
