Savor Blazing Ocean Sunsets at a Soothing Beachfront Haven

MichelleRating, 5 stars1 week ago
It’s not easy to travel with two large dogs and I appreciated being able to do that here. We all had the absolute best time. The cottage was beautiful with so much more included than I thought. I brought a lot of stuff in case and really didn’t need it. Listening to the waves at night was just what I hoped for. The boys (my dogs) had a wonderful time swimming all day and lounging in the deck. The list of local areas to check out was spot on though we didn’t get to visit nearly as much as we wanted to. It was just wonderful and relaxing and I so enjoyed a few days away with my husband and two dogs. Thank you so much for making this place available. I hope to come back soon.

Cope near the beach

KateRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Perfect place for our stay! My parents stayed on the first floor with bedroom and full bath, and my husband, 3 year old, and I stayed upstairs in two bedrooms and full bath. Our pup enjoyed having her bed by the sliding glass door so she could soak up some sunshine:) We walked about 15 minutes to a park with swings and splash pad. Take a left from the driveway and a right at the end of the road. Beautiful view of the sound, and then the park is on the left. The ice cream truck comes around, which was neat for us! Great cozy place, highly recommend! We also ventured to Smith Point Beach, 5 min drive. It’s $18 to park for the day. They have a tiki bar and huge park on the sand for the littles:)

Walk to beach and playground. Outdoor hot tub.

KateRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Had a good stay at Jay's place. The house was in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of a small beach with a playground. An ice cream truck even went through the neighborhood during the evening. The house was as pictured and the backyard was larger than we expected. One thing to note is that there are a couple of steps down from the dining room into the kitchen and a step from the entry into the living room- we had a toddler with us so just had to be a bit more cautious as he was playing. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies. A binder with restaurant menus was appreciated and Jay gave some recommendations with our checkin info. Jay was very clear communicator, we didn’t have any issues during our stay.

Beach Bungalow | Walk to Beach | Pet-friendly|Pkg

MaryRating, 5 stars1 day ago
A very serene place to stay... and had that special summer beach vibe, even tho we stayed in late October. We had a chilly weather front drift over us on our second day... ... which was a bonus; as the waves crashed and put on a great display. My partner and I are big outdoor walkers, so we took advantage of walking 4-5 miles daily along the beach paths, and thru the surrounding neighborhoods. The cottage is furnished with a minimalist feel, and was nicely appointed. As we r vegans, we chose to cook our meals in the kitchen . We would highly recommend Cameron's cottage to others.

Waterfront Beach Cottage

Bridie AnneRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Allyson’s home was in a beautiful location. We loved the uniqueness of the home. We came for a music festival and were surprised to find out it was a neighborhood porch festival. The neighbors let us know and invited us to join in the fun - as they had 3 bands playing on Saturday. It was so much fun and gave us a glimpse of the welcoming neighborhood. Now we want to come back next year for PorchFest!

PRIVATE BEACH: ROYAL OCEANVIEW CASTLE @ CLINTON

QuentinRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Everything about the stay at Charlotte’s house was perfect! Booking and check in were easy and clear. The house is airy, bright, has clean lines but is also comfy. The view of the beach and sound was stunning, and we spent the majority of our time on the provided loungers and beach chairs. It was a short drive to a grocery store, spa and yummy restaurants! I definitely want to go back every year!

The Greenport Bungalow

SheilaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We were so happy to have found this comfortable, well-located home for our recent off-season midweek trip to Greenport. The house was convenient to town, on a quiet street and had every convenience we could think of. The back garden was lovely and private and we only wished the weather had been a bit warmer so that we could have spent more time out there!

This was my second time staying here, and probably won’t be the last. A perfectly wonderful Hamptons home, with a beachy, rustic charm. It’s close to all, yet on a quiet street with a great backyard. David is a fantastic host, everything was spelled out clearly and the home was spotless.

Waterfront Home with Private Beach

JodieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had an amazing birthday weekend with our family and dogs. Brandon was super helpful and extremely nice. The house was amazing. The view was incredible. It was amazing watching the family (young and old) out on the water in kayaks and paddle bosrds. The furniture and bedding were super comfy. The kitchen was fully stocked. Equally ready for our bbq and sit down dinners. Pleanty of linens, a closet of games. They provided everything we could need for a great visit!!

Lake View & Access, Newly Renovated Montauk Oasis

LisaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
My family of 7 people booked Tabitha’s house because it was close to the venue of a wedding we were invited to. Montauk is very attractive with nice neighborhoods and homes and this house was a fairly short ride to the lighthouse and the beach. I would recommend staying here for the solitude and peacefulness if that’s what you’re looking for. Tabitha always responded to questions in a timely manner. Her house is very nice and I would recommend her place to anyone needing a place to stay in Montauk.

Hamptons WaterLiving-Dock, Kayak, Beach, EV charge

RachelRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The pictures do not do this place justice. Clean, well maintained home. Fully stocked children’s room with pack and play, many many toys, high chairs. A garage filled with kayaks and other outdoor fun! The main attraction was the backyard that had a swing set, fire pit and dock. It was a 10 minute drive from town but we never wanted to leave the house. Also multiple outdoor dining options on the property.

Your guide to Montauk

All about Montauk

For more than 4,000 years, the Montaukett Native Americans lived on these lands — hunting, fishing, and farming cattle and sheep. They used what is now Ditch Plains Beach as a lookout point, since the surrounding moorlands kept the beach hidden until it’s seen at the edge of the cliff. It’s from the Montaukett name that the hamlet of Montauk got its name. These days, locals tend to refer to the area as “The End,” since there is no land point beyond its borders. But with 5,000 acres of beach and parklands, getting to Montauk is simply the beginning of endless outdoor adventures.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Montauk

The warm summer days serve as a magnet for weekenders looking to book one of the area’s vacation rentals, don their chicest beachwear, and bask in the comfortable temperatures in the 60s and 70s Fahrenheit. Winters hover in the upper 20s to mid-40s, so travelers generally stay away during the short days, since it isn’t just cold, but rainy and windy too. Fall and spring can range from the upper 30s to upper 60s, but it’s still no match for the peak outdoor season from mid-June to late September. As a peninsula surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and Block Island Sound, the ocean breeze can be strong at times, so a windbreaker or light jacket is recommended, even on sunny days.

Top things to do in Montauk

Ditch Plains Beach

The further east you go in Long Island, the bigger the waves get. As the easternmost point, Ditch Plains is best known for its incredible surfing conditions. But sunbathers, swimmers, and dog walkers also frequent the lifeguarded beach.

Hither Hills State Park

The 1,755-acre park has a two-mile ocean beach, a 190-site campground, and a 40-acre freshwater lake for fishing, as well as a trail through the walking dunes.

Montauk Lighthouse Museum

At the tip of the peninsula is New York state’s oldest lighthouse, authorized under George Washington in 1792 and completed in 1796 — and still in use today. There are 137 iron steps to the top of the 110-foot tower, and the lights, which flash every five seconds, can be seen up to 19 nautical miles away.
