Flagstaff modern retreat

AlisonRating, 5 stars4 months ago
We absolutely loved this home! It feels like you are in the woods while only being 1 mile from downtown. Easy to get Ubers or walk to shops/restaurants. While the useable outdoor space is mostly on the patio, there are also trails and little spots nearby for outdoor play for babies/toddlers. We also loved playing with the kiddos in the garage with the doors open and we saw deer at the lot next door! We would love to come back.

Scenic views, forest trails and hot tub!

JenniferRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a wonderful time there! It was peaceful and so comfortable that we decided to skip a planned day trip to Sedona and just relaxed around the house instead. It was an easy drive to old town Flagstaff, and only minutes from all the shopping you could want. We found some excellent restaurants based on the recommendations and really enjoyed our stay. The best part was being in the hot tub under the stars! That part was magnificent! We'd definitely stay here again.

Serenity Pines, 6 Bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, 2 acres

TabithaRating, 5 stars3 days ago
I am so grateful I stayed at this listing! The home is spacious and feels like it is a loved place built around bringing family together. Besides that, the location is peaceful and beautiful. It was very convenient for our family trip to the Grand Canyon, and the nearby hiking options are also wonderful. Angelica is very responsive, and she has taken great care to make the home a pleasant stay. Some things that stood out to me were the extra toiletries and the well-stocked kitchen. The leisure activities (e.g., basketball hoop, pool table) made for fun evenings after long hikes, and the hot tub was clean and well-kept. Definitely recommend!

El Rancho: Grand House w/AC and Snowbowl Vistas

JeremyRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Large wonderful home surrounded by pines. Views of San Francisco Peaks thru back windows. Peaceful. Birds every am and pm in backyard. Blue jays everywhere. Incredible home and for size of the place, the price is appropriate. Only 15 minutes to drive to Flagstaff for food and shopping and gelato. Hiking opportunities galore. From this house, it’s only about an hour to get to GCNP. Heading south to Munds Park you can do UTV renting. Head west of Flagstaff to Williams to take the Canyon Train. It’s the base camp dream. Only there for three nights so we will definitely come back to do all the rest. Best part is your at base of Snowbowl and 15 minutes by car up the mountain you are watching an amazing sunset. That sunset was incredible. Go up. Watch the sunset. Then drive down and get dinner. Loved it and will book it again when we come back. Mass was an awesome host and always there when we needed him. Great Airbnb choice. You won’t regret choosing it.

Your guide to Flagstaff

All About Flagstaff

The city of Flagstaff is home to various natural wonders, such as Arizona’s tallest mountain, Humphreys Peak, which draws hikers, skiers, and mountaineers to this scenic stretch of Northern Arizona. It’s also where you’ll find Walnut Canyon National Monument, with canyon walls and cliffs holding dwellings that once served as homes to the Sinagua Indians in the 12th and 13th centuries. The Sinagua left more than 80 multi-room dwellings here, 25 of which can be viewed from the footpaths snaking through the canyons. Further remains of ancient Sinagua structures, inhabited between 1070 and 1275 A.D., can be found at Elden Pueblo Archaeological Site in central Flagstaff.

The city itself has a sophisticated restaurant scene and notable museums such as the Museum of Northern Arizona, where you can learn all about this fascinating red rock region of the United States. Flagstaff is also a popular stop on the way to the Grand Canyon, whose pastel peaks and sweeping vistas are only an hour and a half away.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Flagstaff

Flagstaff boasts plenty to do year-round, making it an ideal getaway during any season. If you’re planning to get your fill of winter sports and explore the nearby ski slopes, then make sure you get here between December and February. Just remember to pack those tire chains or have four-wheel drive to avoid any hiccups en route. If you’re looking to bask in the Arizona sunshine, then book your cabin in Flagstaff for July or August. Fall and spring in Flagstaff offer more temperate weather, with plenty of trails perfect for a midday hike during these months.

Top things to do in Flagstaff

Lowell Observatory

As one of the oldest observatories in the United States, Lowell Observatory has a fascinating history. This now research facility is where astronomers first discovered Pluto in the early 20th century, where the rings of Uranus were studied in great detail, and where the Apollo program worked on some of their moon planning. Today you can take a tour of the facility, watch various science films, and check out far away constellations using the observatory telescope.

Humphrey’s Peak Trail

The hike up to Arizona’s highest peak is a five-mile-long trek into nature along a steep and rocky trail that guarantees great views of the canyons and the Painted Desert. While Humphrey’s Peak Trail is open year-round, slippery conditions make it more ideal for exploring in the spring and summertime, with permits required for the winter months’ entry.

Wheeler Park

This green area — located just steps away from the city’s visitor center —plays host to a number of weekend arts festivals throughout the year, and is also one of Flagstaff’s most popular picnic spots. Visitors can enjoy the grassy land on the benches outlining the park, or bring along a blanket for a picnic. In the fall, visitors can take part in an Oktoberfest celebration, and in the winter, the park’s trees are decked out with holiday lights to bring in the season’s cheer.
