Loft in Campo Marzio
4.95 out of 5 average rating, 532 reviewsArt lover's Loft
Daria's loft was absolutely perfect for our stay in Rome. She communicated with us prior to our trip, gave us amazing dinner recommendations, and arranged a ride to the airport for us. She helped us move our bags upstairs into the loft and gave us a tour of all of the amenities. The loft is gorgeous and has everything you could possibly imagine - clothing steamer, nespresso, yoga mat, hair styling tools- the list goes on. Daria's thoughtfulness in making sure you have a great stay is so prevalent in all of these details. She even included personal touches like curated bathroom soaps and her favorite beer from Sicily (all of which were incredible). The bed and other furniture were incredibly comfortable and the loft was beautifully decorated and spotless. I highly recommend staying here and we will definitely love to visit again!

Loved the neighborhood.Lots of shops and Sunday market at Campo di Fiori was close by.Most nights there was some noise from the road below but it was not too bad.We really enjoyed the small medieval road that the apartment was on….

The apartment was exactly as described, refurbished, very clean, very comfortable bed with high-end sheets and towels, ET, and, and a beautiful enough large private patio/garden. The apartment is two feet from the Vatican direct line metro, Coliseum, Fontana di Trévis and Central Station etc, ET, and 300 meters from a large Carrefour supermarket with great choice products open 24/7!! We would recommend Simone's apartment without hesitation.

Thank you Alberto and Marialetizia for having us! This is our second time visiting, and we loved it so much! The studio is clean and comfortable, and we felt right at home! The balcony overlooks beautiful views! This is the perfect location to stay in, whether it’s to see the sights or just enjoy a relaxing city break! The location is the perfect blend of central but quiet and tucked away! The studio comes with a map of recommendations which we loved! Check in was super easy, and Alberto made sure we were settled in! We 100% recommend here for anyone staying in Rome, it’s such a wonderful place! Thank you so much, we hope to be back soon!
Rental unit in Aurelio
4.92 out of 5 average rating, 669 reviewsBright, Cheery Apartment by Saint Peter's Square
We were guests of Edoardo for three days. There was no problem with finding the farm, because he arranged convenient transfers from and to the airport. He greeted us in person and gave a thorough instruction on how to use the apartment. The apartment is well-equipped (fridge, gas stove, oven, microwave, electric kettle, coffee maker and coffee itself, two TVs, fast internet, wifi). Great location -20 minutes to the Vatican, 10 to the metro station, numerous buses, typical Italian minimarket in the neighborhood, and on the corner an open non stop bar where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner, and above all, drink delicious coffee. A great starting point for exploring Rome because it's probably the best way to spend time there. Edoardo serves maps and advice.

We had a great stay at Floriana's flat - the location is fantastic. It's a nice little neighbourhood, with a great market. Short walk to Trastevere, which is a brilliant area for eating/drinking, and also walkable to the main sights in the city (but also close to public transport). The flat's nice and quiet, and just as described. Check-in was easy, all nicely cleaned. Well-equipped too. Great communication throughout, including some tips of what to do locally. Would happily stay there again.

4.79 out of 5 average rating, 550 reviewsWonderful Penthouse Rome center
Andrea's apartment in Trastevere was an oasis of calm above the hubub that can be Trastervere. The lovely terrace is a great place for breakfast and a pre-evening drink to watch the world go by, with super views up to Janiculum hill. Great size kitchen/lounge area, very comfortable bed and a more than generous walk-in wardrobe made our 4 night stay here very enjoyable. Once you are through the main door and ascend to the 4th floor, it really was so peaceful and relaxing compared to the vibrancy and energy of Trastevere at the weekends. Andrea, via the lovely and funny Carlota, allowed us to gain entry an hour or so earlier, which was a great help. All in all, we will return to this lovely apartment - assuming it is available - on our next trip to Rome.

Sandro’s place was fantastic! Giorgio was actually the one who helped us with check in and sent us information about the place and local restaurants, etc. and he was very easy to communicate with. The apartment was beautiful and VERY clean and the balcony was even better than in the photos. We sat outside every morning and night. The area is so peaceful and quiet. We used the Metro every day to get into the city centre and it was a quick ride and very easy to use! Nearby there are grocery stores, cafes, and restaurants. Thank you very much to Sandro and Giorgio! We recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Rome, outside of the chaos of the city centre.

Gabriel's place was centrally located. we walked to the Vatican, Castel di san Angelo, Trevi fountain, Colesseum and Spanish steps. Many resturants clos we by. Be prepared bathroom setup is a little odd. The bedroom I considered master had a shower only with frosted glass facing the center of the building, toilet was down the hall. All dooable and overall great! Would recommend.

Antonio was very accommodating of our early check-in request. Much appreciated!! He also arranged a driver from Civitavecchia cruise ship port and then again to the airport, to catch our flight home. Both drivers were on time and very professional. Apartment was clean and comfortable and included thoughtful welcome goodies! Highly recommend this apartment, and so handy to the airport! Loved the local restaurants and coffee shops too.

This was my third time to Italy, and my favorite! We stayed for 13 days and it was perfect. The house is not only as beautiful as the pictures but it feels welcoming. The location is ideal if you want to be close to the center but not in the touristy areas. There’s a mini market, few cafes, and inexpensive restaurants nearby for convenience. The hosts were very kind, explanatory and kept in touch incase we needed anything. It has absolutely everything you need for the bathroom, kitchen, and more. They even left some food and drinks for us. The house was very clean, which I appreciate so much. We would definitely book it again.

We were very pleased with Marina's apartment in Trastevere. It was in a perfect location with easy access to many restaurants and bars. The apartment is on a very busy piazza, however, the double windows kept all of the noise out. We especially liked the two rooftop decks which provided a quiet and private outside space. The onsite staff was very responsive and helpful - even meeting us at the door and helping with luggage.

Your guide to Rome
Welcome to Rome
Rome holds a special type of pizzazz that isn’t replicated anywhere else on the planet. Its ancient roots, dating back long before its official founding in 753 BCE, make it a living history museum of ancient civilization, where the ruins of the landmarks featured in school history textbooks speak to visitors today as much as they did millennia ago to the Romans. That historic city center, surrounded by the Aurelian and Janiculum walls either side of the River Tiber, holds the remnants of a whopping 25,000 sites of historical and environmental importance. Rome is also one of the most vibrant cultural hubs in the world. Whether it’s innovative art institutions, thriving piazzas, or cozy coffee houses, the city’s future is as much of its personality as its past.
The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Rome
Choosing the best time to visit Rome comes down to personal preference: the warmer months come with huge crowds, meaning you may find long lines and limited tickets around town; if you visit during chillier periods, there’s a more manageable urban flow. The good news about the latter option is that low temperatures seldom drop below freezing and there can be moderate days, even in January and February. May and September may be a sweet spot to catch the best of both worlds. As Rome is an urban hub, it isn’t hard to find a festival or major event in the city at any given time, but annual highlights include the Festival del Verde e del Paesaggio garden festival in May, the VinòForum wine festival in June, the Taste of Roma food festival in September, and the season-long Lungo il Tevere Summer Festival from June through September, with al fresco performances and films at heritage sites.
Top things to do in Rome
Historic Roman Sites
When in Rome, visits to the headline attractions are a requisite. There’s the Colosseum, the Forum, and Vatican City’s Sistine Chapel (opt for skip-the-line access for all three), as well as the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish Steps, but the list doesn’t end there. Other ancient landmarks include Palatine Hill, the Baths of Caracalla, Trajan’s Forum, and the Circus Maximus. Perhaps go fountain hopping at the Fiumi and Barcaccia fountains, or tour the piazzas like Piazza Navona, Piazza Venezia, and Piazza del Popolo. Other highlights include the Villa Borghese house and gardens, the Castel Sant’Angelo fortress, and the grand Altar of the Fatherland monument.
Roman Ghetto
As home to one of the world’s oldest Jewish neighborhoods, this area is filled with impressive sites such as the 19th-century synagogue and the Piazza delle Cinque Scole, as well as tasty eats―don’t miss the Roman-Jewish carciofi alla giudia (deep-fried artichokes) in the area’s eateries. But it’s also a place of reflection, such as at the memorial in Piazza 16 Ottobre 1943.
MAXXI National Museum of 21st Century Arts
As proof that Rome isn’t just about its past, the MAXXI is focused on contemporary creativity of every kind. The site comprises the nation’s first museum of architecture, as well as a modern art museum that includes theater, dance, graphics, and advertising.
