Charming Thornton Park Guesthouse

SteveRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We stayed at Melissa's place over the weekend after Hurricane Milton passed over. We were coming in on Friday night for a Saturday night concert. As the hurricane approached, Melissa was in constant communication, advising us of power outages and other hazards in the area. Luckily, their power was restored and flights resumed before our departure. Melissa's communication was key in allowing us to make sound travel decisions and her responses after we arrived were prompt and helpful. Check in super easy - everything as described with the house on a nice, quiet, but conveniently located street. I would definitely stay here as a base to explore anything in the Orlando area if I were to return.

Charming Getaway Near Downtown & Disney

Brianna RosemarieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We needed to evacuate for the hurricane last minute due to the track change. We have two cats so looking for a place was difficult last minute with animals. We also wanted to be off ground level, so this place was a blessing to say the least. It is perfect for two people and provided everything needed. Also a plus for hot Florida was the air conditioner was great. We are thankful and felt very comfortable here!

Paradise nook near Orlando's theme parks

TimRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Had a wonderful stay at Noga's cozy little cottage. It was our second stay there. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided, and Noga checks periodically to see that every thing is ok. Quiet, peaceful property close to everything. We were there during hurricane Helene, and Noga wanted to make sure we were safe, and was offering us another place to go, should we need to leave the cottage. A PERFECT PLACE FOR FOR US AND OUR DOG TO STAY WHEN VISITING FAMILY IN ORLANDO !!! If you are looking for quiet, quaint little cottage to stay during your visist to Orlando, we highly recomend it.

TeriRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Sally Ann, we truly loved staying at your place. The location was perfect for us (10 min from our family), the country charm was perfect. The horses, bunnies, chickens, and of course Blueberry made our stay exactly what we were looking for. Our grandchildren loved the farm and the horse rides. Your non-profit is helping so many, your kindness and support to the community is amazing. Thank you for letting us be a very small part of it. Teri

We stayed here for our weekend trip to HHN, and it was perfect. The place was very easy to find with clear instructions, and the outside seating area was very peaceful and comfy. The linens were soft, the couch was really comfortable, and the bathroom with cleaaan. Marcio was very friendly and communicated with me through the hurricane. :) Will definitely be staying here again!

Farm feel in the city

EmmaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We loved our weeklong stay! Angela was very friendly and accommodating, especially considering we were there during a hurricane! The place is a little hard to find from the road, but once you’re there it’s got a nice homey feel. The only note I had was the listing needs to be updated to show that they no longer have a couch that folds into a bed! We chose the listing specifically because it showed three beds in different rooms, so we were a bit disappointed to find out this wasn’t the case. Still, we enjoyed our trip very much and found Angela’s hosting to be very helpful and welcoming. :)

I enjoyed a weekend stay while visiting Universal Studios. Check in and check out was smooth. The home was clean, cozy and Sarah thought of all the little extras (soap in the bathroom, stocked kitchen, extra blankets & towels). Also liked how close it was to so many stores and restaurants. I look forward to staying here in the future and would recommend for small getaways

The Butterfly Bungalow near Park Ave

MallorieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We absolutely loved the Butterfly Bungalow! We were in town for a quick weekend wedding and this was the perfect place to stay. It was our first time traveling with our 2 month old baby. The house was so clean and the perfect size for 3 adults and a baby. Zaileen the host was extremely kind, helpful and responsive. Overall we loved our stay and if we’re ever back in the area we will be staying here again :)

Your guide to Orlando

All about Orlando

Home to a multitude of theme parks and adrenaline-inducing attractions, Orlando knows how to have fun. Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Florida are globally famous, in addition to the buzzy Church Street District and a dizzying portfolio of world-class resorts. Yet while vibrant entertainment might be Orlando’s biggest claim to fame, you don’t need to look very hard to discover it’s also home to an array of other activities. Ecotourism experiences, manicured gardens, picnic-perfect parks, Victorian architecture, and family-friendly science centers are all part of this Central Florida city’s diverse make-up.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Orlando

With 233 sunny days per year, it’s no wonder that Florida is called the Sunshine State. While it’s possible to take advantage of Orlando’s outdoor offerings year-round, keep in mind that summers are not for the faint of heart: July’s average is a sweltering 92 degrees Fahrenheit, and the subtropical climate means dense humidity. The most pleasant time to stay in one of Orlando’s vacation rentals is from February to May, when the temperature is consistently in the mid-70s. Good walking shoes, breathable clothes, and a just-in-case poncho for surprise showers are staples for a prepared wardrobe. One other important weather note: Fall is hurricane season.

Top things to do in Orlando

Lake Eola Park

Lake Eola Park is situated in the middle of downtown Orlando and boasts greatly accessible nature. The glistening lake, which was formed by a natural sinkhole is surrounded by a wide walking path and grass with skyline views, making it one of the city’s most popular picnic spots, and a hub for birders. Live performances and concerts light up the park at the outdoor Walt Disney Amphitheater.

Leu Gardens

In 1961 a business magnate’s former estate was transformed into a 50-acre botanical garden. Now it’s an exotic living museum, with more than 40 plant collections from around the world. See everything from flowering trees to tropical philodendrons, and make sure to stop and literally smell the roses. Educational placards describe the history of each variety, and concerts bring the space to life. The former residence is on the National Register of Historic Places and there’s also a welcome center which features permanent and rotating art exhibits.

Church Street District

This lively district is deeply rooted in Orlando’s history. It’s home to Church Street Station, a historic railway depot from 1889 that’s now a popular retail and entertainment complex. A corridor of restaurants with al fresco dining and live music are two good reasons to stay well into the evening.
