My son & I went up for a hunting trip. This was a great place to stay while we were up in the mountains. Had everything we could’ve possibly needed and a great coffee selection as well. Would definitely stay again. Chad was a great host and was super responsive anytime I had questions. He definitely went above and beyond.

Hot Springs Hideaway Cabin

ErinRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Amrit was an amazing host! She was very communicative and helpful regarding directions and recommendations. The cabin was beautiful, clean and located in an extremely serene area. We saw an abundance of a wildlife, chipmunks, squirrels, and even a wolf and bear! The fireplace was another great part. Though if you are looking to go to Albuquerque or Santa Fe it is quite a trek. We thank Amrit for opening her Airbnb to us for a fabulous stay!

River Mountain Oasis: Hot Springs & Fishing Nearby

GinaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Jemez Springs is a special place to me and my husband. We've went on vacation and stayed there 3 years in a row now. The mountain scenes are emotionally breathtaking and beautiful. Out of all the homes we've stayed in, Adriana's home has been our most favorite of all. From the moment you enter, you feel right at home. The home is described and looks exactly like the pictures. It comes fully stocked with any and everything you might need during your stay. Adriana is one of the kindest hosts we've encountered on Airbnb. She took the time to write us one of the sweetest notes and left a couple of surprise gifts for us upon arrival. She's genuinely caring and compassionate about her guests and her home. The home is decorated beautifully and was spacious and clean. This home could be booked as a couple's getaway or for family and friends. The outside landscaping is well kept and equally as beautiful. We plan on staying with Adriana again the next time we visit.

Cozy Cabin Retreat Close to Outdoor Adventures

BrookeRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The cabin was lovely, cozy and was very clean when we arrived. Daniel and Farita were very responsive and allowed me to check in a little early due to my travel schedule, which was very gracious. The kitchen was equipped with cookware, cleaning supplies, utensils, some sweet treats (including a few snacks, tea, spices, sugar, etc.) and a great wood stove that we enjoyed having a fire in. The beds were comfortable, and the futon allowed another option for guests to sleep on. Thank you so much for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!

Serene 70's Retro Retreat

DustinRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
hands down the best cabin for a couple people. super clean and had everything we needed for an off-grid vacation. just keep in mind the roads getting there are absolutely unpaved and extremely steep, your Altima is not going to cut it. you need a high clearance vehicle and if it rains or snows a 4-wheel drive is an absolute necessity. your front wheel drive SUV will not cut it- I barely made it with a Honda pilot 2wd and I have off-road mud tires which gave me a huge advantage. otherwise the fire pit and everything about this cabin is wonderful! a billion stars if I could

Rejuvenating time In a stunning location. Nancy made us feel welcome and it was the cleanest, most comfortable and equipped AirBNB we’ve ever had. To say nothing about the amazing views from every window.

Your guide to Jemez Springs

All About Jemez Springs

Set amid the beautiful red rock landscape of New Mexico, Jemez Springs is a small village with a population of just 400 people about an hour’s drive north of Albuquerque. Visitors have been flocking here since the early 1800s to soak in the town’s mineral-rich waters. Today, people come to visit its numerous museums, art galleries, and monuments, many of which are located in old adobe structures.

Jemez Springs is surrounded by the 1.6 million-acre Santa Fe National Forest, making it a great base for exploring the park’s 1,000 miles of hiking trails. The park is also home to a number of rivers popular with anglers. For an outstanding afternoon drive, Jemez Mountain Trail National Scenic Byway will guide you past some of the area’s top natural attractions, including the Valle Caldera National Preserve — an ideal spot for hiking, mountain biking, and snowshoeing. If you’re lucky, you may even spot some of the local wildlife such as elk or wild turkeys.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Jemez Springs

Due to its high altitude and mild climate, you can book a Jemez cabin any month of the year. During the summer, days are long and sunny, making it the perfect time for exploring the local attractions. In the fall, the tourist crowds begin to thin out as the temperature decreases to where you may want to throw on a light jacket before heading out. Labor Day weekend, Jemez Springs hosts a two-mile-long art walk where local artists showcase and sell their work along Highway 4. It can get quite chilly during the winter, so make sure to bring a warm coat with you and pack plenty of layers. This is a nice time to visit some of the local hot springs. In the spring, temperatures start to heat up again, and this is a particularly great time to visit the nearby national parks before the summer crowds arrive.

Top things to do in Jemez Springs

Jemez Springs National Historic Landmark

This landmark is home to two historic sites: the ruins of the 500-year-old Native American village of Giusewa, built by the Walatowa, and the 17th-century San Jose de los Jemez church, which once served as a Spanish colonial mission. The ruins are considered some of the best in the southwest and shouldn’t be missed.

Soda Dam

Located just two miles north of Jemez Springs, this large 7,000-year-old hot spring dam is a fascinating geological structure made of calcium carbonate. The dam stretches more than 300 feet across the Jemez River Valley and can be easily accessed from State Highway 4.

San Antonio Hot Springs

Although Jemez Springs is known for its numerous hot springs, the San Antonio Hot Springs stand out from the competition. Tucked into the side of the San Antonio Mountains, the springs are about a six-mile hike from the nearest main road. They are well worth the effort as the views of the pine-covered mountains along the way and up at the top are truly spectacular.
