JoAnn was a fantastic host! She was friendly and super helpful; I felt supported as a guest from the very beginning to the end. I recommend this AirBnB to anyone.
Home in Downtown Austin
4.89 out of 5 average rating, 371 reviewsEast Austin HotSpot- perfect for groups
We came in for the F1 race weekend, and this was a great place to launch from every morning. Apartment was as advertised, spacious with all the amenities we needed...enjoyed chilling out there after long days at the track. The Rainey district is just a short walk away, so easy to grab food and a drink there, as well. Amit was very accommodating with an early check in. We were a little worried about road noise from I-35, but it wasn't bad at all - light sleepers would probably want their sleep aids. Would definitely recommend and book again if the opportunity arises.

We had an amazing stay at Greg’s place! The house is beautiful, clean, and in a great location. Greg was a fantastic host—very communicative, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. He even offered a late check-out, which we really appreciated. We highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back!
Home in East Austin
4.89 out of 5 average rating, 327 reviewsSingle Malt Manor | Downtown Austin
This air BnB is perfect for large groups who are looking for a place that can house everyone comfortably (everyone has their own bed), is close (walking distance or cheap Uber ride if you’re lazy lol) to many great restaurants and bars, and has great amenities at the house for days you decide to stay in (e.g. nice pool with patio and plenty of outside seating, a grill, speaker, etc.). The host was also very responsive and corrected any unintentional issues swiftly (e.g. we discovered the charging cable for the speaker was missing and we couldn’t use it and the host quickly received our message and delivered a new one within an hour or two). Lastly, the host super easy to work with and went out of her way to ensure we had an amazing stay (e.g. the host accommodated our last minute request to check in early which was super helpful considering all of us flew into Austin and the host also periodically checked in on us via text to ensure we always had everything we needed).

Our time is Austin was fantastic! Came for work and this was a fantastic spot. The hosts were so quick to reply, almost always within 10min. I was very impressed. The location is also incredible, was able to walk to amazing restaurants or be a quick Uber from other places. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay at Amy and Hoang's place. We struggled to get in, and they were helpful even though they handled sick kids at home. This place made it easy to attend all of the events we had for a wedding. We were able to get anywhere we needed to be quickly. It was clean and a great place to relax after our celebrations. Thanks for sharing your space.

What a fantastic place to stay at! Beautiful place, stunning views, very clean, and extremely cozy and comfy furniture. Close to all the entertainment Austin has to offer. We came for a U of Texas game and Formula 1 race and the distance between the two couldn’t have been more perfect. We also loved the short walk to Rainey Street and enjoyed the food trucks, shopping, brunch, and bars - Bre was a wonderful host as well, thank you!

We loved this property. It was just as pictured. the AC was great, the bed was comfortable and the complex was super quiet. Kitchen and bat were well stocked. Rental unit in Travis Heights
4.77 out of 5 average rating, 444 reviewsSouth Congress Renovated Condo w/ Pool!
This was my first Airbnb experience. It was phenomenal! Maris was an awesome host and very easy. Zero hassle whatsoever. The space is exactly as pictured and described. Clean, organized, and amazing location! On a Lime scooter, I could get to the city center (which you can see from the patio right outside) in about 8 minutes. But it’s far enough from the center to be dead quiet at night. Could not have asked for a better experience. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else next time I’m in town!
Home in Wimberley
4.91 out of 5 average rating, 135 reviewsGratitude & Grace Guest House
Gratitude and Grace worked perfectly for our family. We were in town for family weekend at TXST and the house was plenty of room for us to eat, sleep and socialize. The game room was an added bonus for things to do when we weren't at the university or in Wimberley. Feeding the deer in the morning was a lot of fun and being so close to Wimberley was nice.

We love our stay! We were in town for the Formula 1 race at CoTA and this location was great with minimal traffic in between. We did accidentally lock ourselves out with the child lock (user error) but Nelma was so helpful and responded quickly and helped us get back inside. We would love to stay again.

Folks…let me tell you… The Zen Cabin is the place for you! I was super stoked when I found this listing. After booming, I was even more excited due to the prompt communication and friendliness of the Hosts. This was my first AirBnB booking, so I was really happy with all the information that was provided by the Hosts. The Price was cheaper than hotels, and the House is gigantic!!! This home is furnished to sleep probably 8 guests. The water pressure on the showers was insanely wonderful! Cleanliness was zero issues!!! It was so wonderful to observe the local wildlife in the back of the house. So many beautiful Deer just hanging out in the back. This home is beautiful. We will definitely be back. Thank you!!!

We had a golf group of 14 guys. The house was perfect for us. Only 30 min to our golf destinations, secluded so we could have a great time outside playing ping pong, cornhole, etc and not feel like we were being too noisy. Kitchen had everything we needed, hot tub was great for pre post rounds. Hosts were great and very responsive. Highly recommend!! We will be back.
Guesthouse in Dripping Springs
4.96 out of 5 average rating, 319 reviewsTuscan Oasis in Dripping Springs! Guest Apartment
What a gorgeous home and location! This was just what I was looking for when I wanted to surprise my man for his birthday. Evelyn and her husband were so nice to meet as we arrived and even gifted us with a bottle of champagne the next morning to celebrate! Very peaceful location, gorgeous property, comfortable stay, and great restaurants on the area. We went ziplining at Lake Travis and enjoyed his birthday dinner at Tillie's less than 10 miles away. What a gorgeous restaurant with amazing food! We live in Dallas and are spoiled with restaurant options we love to enjoy, but Tillie's blew us away! We had a wonderful time. Everything was perfect! Thank you.

Your guide to Austin
Introduction
The Texas capital is a mecca of everything the state does best: inventive cuisine served from its food trucks; live entertainment celebrated at festivals touting music, tech, and extreme sports, and of course the all-essential SXSW; and plenty of outdoor experiences that call for biking, hiking cycling, swimming, bouldering, and kayaking year-round. Downtown Austin is the center of it all, with a thriving arts and shopping scene by day and lively nightlife after the sun sets, especially on Sixth Street and in the Warehouse District. Take a step back in time in South Austin, where beloved restaurants and classic architecture surround the biggest city park. The fast-growing neighborhood of East Austin, an eclectic enclave of food and boutiques, is another great spot to explore.
The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Austin
Austin boasts 300 sunny days a year, but there’s no denying that the city sizzles in the summer, with July being the hottest month. Average high temperatures are in the 90s Fahrenheit from June through September, with lows only getting into the 70s. Winter is a far more temperate season, with highs in the upper 50s to low 70s and lows dipping into the upper 30s. Spring and fall are the most pleasant seasons for a vacation, with highs usually in the 70s and 80s and lows in the 50s to 60s. The clearest skies arrive between July and November, with the highest average days of rain in May.
Top things to do in Austin
Texas Capitol
The Texas state house is as grand in stature as the state is in size, earning a spot on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and being declared a National Historic Landmark in 1986. Made of sunset red Texas granite, the three-story capitol building is the largest in the nation — yes, it’s more than 14 feet higher than the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC. But the true beauty is in the details, such as the ornate oversized brass door hinges and chandeliers with light bulbs that spell out “T-E-X-A-S.” Take a free half-hour tour or pick up a map to take a self-guided tour.
Congress Avenue Bridge Bats
No bat signal needed! One of the most stunning sights in town is this fascinating natural phenomenon as between 750,000 and 1.5 million bats — the largest urban colony on the continent — fly out from under the Ann Richards Congress Avenue Bridge every night at dusk.
Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
Founded by Lady Bird Johnson and actress Helen Hayes in 1982, the 284-acre University of Texas at Austin Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is committed to preserving the state’s native plants, with more than 900 species on site. There’s also an arboretum with more than 70 kinds of Texas’ native trees.
