Villa near the beach

RobertRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Location, location, location! My wife and I enjoyed our stay tremendously. The unit was modern, spotless and complete with all of the amenities we needed. We loved the privacy of the pool and found our date night dinners by the pool very romantic. Plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distances, which we took full advantage, and the beach is a very short walk. We will come back for sure!

ALMOND BLUE ...Pinel bay view - caribbean feeling

ToddRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Francois is a wonderful host of a beautiful property. We had questions a few times and he was very quick to respond and help. We needed specific types of chargers in order to adapt our American devices to European outlets, and Francois went out himself to purchase them. Above and beyond!! His home is a great set-up with many nice amenities. A lovely property with fantastic views!! Thanks for everything Francois!!

Prestigious Villa with Breathtaking Ocean View

WilliamRating, 5 stars7 months ago
BOOK. HERE. NOW! If you are going to Saint Martin, then you should stop looking and book this place. Marion is a wonderful and gracious host. She made our family feel right at home and is super thoughtful and available. I cannot think of a host that has been as generous! And, Marion’s place is just as wonderful! The view is incredible and her home is fantastic. Everything is new and very well maintained. Our kids loved her home, and all of their complaining about a long trip ended the second we got inside. I cannot recommend Marion’s place enough. Book it. You will be glad that you did. The only drawback is you have to leave!

Sea View Studio on Orient Bay

MikeRating, 5 stars2 months ago
A modern furnished apartment with a beautiful view of Orient Bay. The kitchen is sufficient to make your own breakfast and the washing machine in the bathroom is also very helpful to quickly wash your clothes or beach towels. The property managers are super nice and helpful. A private parking lot is included with the apartment. The whole vacation home complex is very quiet and clean. The only thing you can hear is the sound of the sea...and that is heavenly. If I return to the island one day I will book this Airbnb again.

Sea Haven Villa - Breathtaking Views of Dawn Beach

LatinaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Esheen is an amazing host. I have stayed at several places through Airbnb and this was by far my best experience. I would recommend her place to everyone. She responded in seconds every single time I contacted her, and that wasn't in response to complaints because we had none. She offered recommendations to some amazing places, including a fantastic spa, and warned us about the upcoming Tropical Storm Ernesto before we were aware of it. Thanks for a great holiday and birthday celebration. Speaking of birthday, she had wine, flowers and a birthday card awaiting our arrival. Absolutely amazing!!

OCEAN SOUNDS

JerricaRating, 5 stars6 months ago
I will start my saying this. I almost cried when I had to turn the keys over! The place is definitely in the top 3 of places I’ve stayed. To begin, the communication with the host was impeccable! Check in was such a smooth, thorough process. Parking right in front of the building. The unit sits on the best beach on the island! Grand case beach easily became my favorite. It was never crowded or loud. The water was so calm and tranquil! Amazing snorkeling. This unit is even more beautiful in person! Beautifully decorated and squeaky clean. The most beautiful views! Everything you could need or want is in this unit! I loved sitting on the couch sipping coffee early in the morning. The upstairs patio was one of my favorite places to unwind after a long day! The location of this unit is just a 5-10 min walk to many amazing restaurants. I have never felt safer as a female solo traveler!

cosy apartment

NaxonRating, 5 stars2 months ago
My honest review about the apartment-The host was super nice. He made my wife and I felt at home. The place was close to everything. The private beach was the best part of it. The place was nicely cleaned, with a comfortable bed, there are everything available if you want to make a quick breakfast. He stocked up the fridge with refreshments which made my wife very grateful because it was very hot the day we arrived. I would definitely recommend this place and book again without hesitation.

Indigo Bay Villa Poolside - Ocean 14

FeliciaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Absolutely beautiful home in quiet neighborhood with stunning views. Had everything you would need. Location was out of the way yet still close enough (with a vehicle) to night life of simpson bay, grocery stores, restaurants, shopping at the pier. I've been to the island many times but always stayed in hotels, now I don't think I can stay anywhere else!

Your guide to Saint Martin

All About Saint Martin

The Caribbean island of Saint Martin only spans 37 miles, but despite its small size, the island and its surrounding waters are teeming with natural and cultural attractions. You can snorkel or scuba dive to explore nearby coral reefs and shipwrecks. Back on land, travel through the rainforest, past ochre-colored cliffs and powerful waterfalls on foot, bike, or horseback. For the more daring, explore the rainforest canopy as you ride down the steepest zipline in the world.

Half of the island is under the sovereignty of France and half under the Netherlands — these two European cultures exist alongside the native West Indies culture. Among the vibrant red and blue huts of the French side, you’ll find Creole cuisine like conch and callaloo soup, whereas the southern city of Phillipsburg is characterized by traditional white European-style buildings that have been painted over with captivating murals by local artists. You can learn how the island became what it is today at historic locales like Fort Amsterdam and Fort Louis or view the exhibits at Fruits de Mer and the Heritage Museum.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Saint Martin

Winter into early spring is the peak season on Saint Martin, when warm but mild temperatures attract the most international visitors. Major events like the Salsa Festival, a major regatta, and a huge electronic music festival happen during this time as well.

There are a number of festivals and events held throughout the year celebrating different cultural traditions as well. For example, Carnival begins in January on the French side, with costumed parades and parties lasting until Ash Wednesday. On the Dutch side, Carnival happens after Easter, and parades in Phillipsburg take place in late April or early May.

Major cultural events like the Annual Book Fair, the FĂȘte Nationale, and the Sandy-Ground Festival are held in the summer months — before hurricane season in September and October. The island slows down a bit during these months as it prepares for an intense rainy season and a high frequency of tropical storms.

Top things to do in Saint Martin

Amuseum Naturalis

This free museum, located at the Old House in the island’s French Quarter, teaches visitors about the island’s unique wildlife and cultural history. While taking a self-guided tour here, you’ll learn about plants and animals that are only found on Saint Martin, the unique building methods of the island’s architecture, and how African, European, and Indigenous cultures have blended into Caribbean agriculture, medicine, and cuisine.

Pic Paradis

The final stop on many of the island’s backcountry hiking trails, Pic Paradis is the highest point on the island and arguably has the best views on Saint Martin. From this vantage point, you’ll be able to look over the colorful homes of the French Quarter and as well as the stunning white sand beaches on the shores of Orient Bay, all the way to the Dutch side of the island.

Tintamarre Island

Located less than two miles off the island’s northeast coast, Tintamarre is a mostly undeveloped island — aside from one centuries-old abandoned cotton plantation. This island is the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of the Caribbean in relative solitude.
