Entire Beachhouse on Sandy Beach

KarmenRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We LOVED our stay at Leslie's beach house! It was exactly like the pictures, Leslie was incredible and went out of her way on multiple occasions to help us. She gave us tour recommendations, introduced us to Gregory the Conch Guy and they both shared an entire afternoon with our family. He made Conch salad for us and showed us how to make conch horns and even gave us the horns as a souvenir. It was absolutely a highlight of our trip! We fished & snorkeled right at the property, walked the beach and swung on the the beach swings up the way. The locals were all super friendly and our son even made it a nightly ritual to walk to Da Shop to grab a few Kalik beers and enjoy them out back listening to the sound of the ocean waves. We went on a guided fishing/snorkeling trip, learned how to spear fish, took a catamaran to pig beach, & enjoyed hanging out with our new friends! Also, we were able to use Leslie's contact to rent a private car for $50/day. Great stay, great host!

2BR Beachfront Condo - Sunrise Beach Club & Villas

JorgeRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We had a great time. Having the pool right outside the unit and the beach 30 seconds away was awesome. A great thing about this place is that even though it’s right next to public access to the beach and next to larger hotels, the beach out in front is basically empty. Food wise, you could walk to the restaurants at Atlantis in 10 minutes, or also hit the restaurant that’s on site. Would definitely stay here again

Enjoyed our stay. The place was very nice, clean and comfortable as advertised. The thing we really appreciated was the guide for attractions particularly on a night we wanted to go out but not be far from home. Overall it was a great experience and will likely come gin

Driftwood - Ocean View Family Cottage w/pool

ElizabethRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Dario and Erin were extremely accommodating. Top notch hosts! They were always quick to respond when we had a question or concern. The house has 3 (or four?) units like town houses. The hosts live in one of them, so they are available if you need them. It was so cool to explore the ocean in front of the house. My son fished and caught mangrove snapper, a little barracuda, and saw a small nurse shark. We snorkeled a lot and saw so much just right there. Many live starfish, lots of colorful tropical fish, a variety of corals, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, crab, even a little sand eel! The area where the house is located is down a quiet local street. We were able to enjoy the area more like a local, and not a tourist- which we prefer. The closest grocery store is nice. The next door neighbor rents small cars. So that was also fabulously convenient. When we drove 25 min. to a fishing charter and 35 minutes to scuba dive at Stuart’s cove. We recommend trips to the Caves, Exuma and Jaws beach

Beachouse on a quiet beach w/pool & large backyard

AlexRating, 5 stars2 months ago
My family and I have stayed in AirBNBs all over the world… Robbie and Rosalie were the best hosts we’ve ever encountered. Additionally, the house and location exceeded our expectations. The beach was quiet and pristine, we went days without seeing another person. We took the kayaks out daily and went swimming and snorkeling right off the backyard. The water was crystal clear and the beach was spotless. Robbie and Rosalie helped us with local restaurant recommendations (which were amazing), and also helped us to coordinate a snorkeling tour to swim with sea turtles. This was the perfect family vacation and we cannot wait to return!

This place was as described. I really wanted it to do some cook. what attracted me is the location, full kitchen, gas stove and huge refrigerator. It actually had two living rooms and a small dinning room space. There were towels and toiletries. I would recommend

Private charming cottage and garden

SergeRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed at Shawna & Jonathan’s property for a week and it was fantastic. The property was clean, well maintained and had everything we need. It’s located in quiet neighborhood, within minutes ride from Montago beach and Nassau historical part (we rented car during our stay). The hosts were very welcoming and responsive, provided some recommendations for activities and food. Overall its was great experience, I would recommend it for families with kids who’d like to have more quiet place to stay.

The apartment matches the description, accommodating and flexible host with check-in and check-out times. Close to the Atlantis hotel but far from the center. Very comfortable bedding. There is nothing missing in equipment. The outdoor terrace is lovely. I would this property.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on Hampshire Street! The house had everything we needed to make our vacation, enjoyable and comfortable. I was worried initially that there was not a washer and a dryer, but Deanna provides a ton of beach towels. There were more than enough for our five kids who swam all day every day! The neighborhood felt very safe and quiet. We walked to a lot of places which was really convenient! I highly recommend this property.

Diane’s place was just as amazing as she was! She was very communicative & met us at the house upon arrival. Everything we needed was there down to spices to cook with. There were also games to play, we left a deck of cards to add. You definitely need a rental car, just had to get used to driving on the left side! This home is definitely a home away from home!

Cottage On Cable Beach (Royal Cay Unit)

RobertRating, 5 stars5 months ago
The Cottage on Cable Beach (Royal Cay Unit) was amazing! It was quiet, comfortable, spacious, clean and all around excellent! The outside fenced patio was perfect for our morning tea and coffee before going to the beach. We felt completely safe at all times. We were able to walk to several restaurants at most 10 mins. The beach was literally a 3-minute walk! The beach area was amazing! It was private and, on some days, it was just my wife and I there the whole day. At the most, there were 6 people there. There were plenty of lounge beds and chairs available. There are trees were positioned perfectly so in the afternoon, there was some shade available. Snorkeling equipment was included and available to use from the host Isaac. We cannot say enough about the hospitality of Isaac and his associate Lonah. They were both friendly and made sure we were taken care of and were helpful and answered all our questions promptly. We we have already looked into going back again!

Beautiful Ocean Front 2BD/2BTH

BryceRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
If you prefer AirBnB over a hotel, this place is perfect. Taxi's and buses all know the building by name and it's a 10 minute walk to BahaMar, grocery store and other places. Tineka is the perfect host and she went out of her way to help me with a small surprise for my wife for our anniversary. She was always very responsive and very helpful with recommendations. Definitely use Monique for taxi service...she is amazing and renting a car is a terrible idea. Tineka can connect you with Monique. The place was very quiet and the pool is awesome and there is a small, private beach. If you want quiet, private and a great view in a great apartment, this is the ideal spot with one of the best hosts I have experienced for an AirBnB so far.

ATLANTIS, BAHAMAS FAMILY CONDO - Sleeps 4 - 10 ppl

AshleyRating, 5 stars7 months ago
Amazing place to stay with a great price especially considering you get access to everything in the Atlantis resort. Rooms were spacious and clean. John was responsive when I needed to reach out. The staff was super welcoming. One thing I will say if you are a light sleeper, maybe bring some ear plugs. It wasn’t anything major, but there were some nights where people were loud coming back to the rooms around us. All in all my family just spent a week in paradise making memories we won’t forget and I would book johns place again.

Luxury condo with a beachy Bahamian twist!

LisaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Wow - so many good things to say about Tatjana’s place! First of all, Tatjana is incredibly responsive. We got caught up in the Delta Airlines mess, which delayed our visit to the Bahamas by one day. She kept in touch with us throughout and would simply check in because she’s that NICE. Her condo is exactly like the photos - clean, beautiful, and perfectly appointed. We are a family of four and it was plenty of space for us. The balcony is quite large and it’s a great space to sit at night and listen to the frogs sing you the songs of their people - so relaxing! The pool is FABULOUS and the beach is pristine. We brought our own snorkel gear but she has plenty for visiting guests, including pool noodles and sand toys for little ones. Construction is going on just outside but the soundproofing in this building is phenomenal because you can’t hear a thing. You won’t regret booking this AirBnB - you’ll only have regrets if you don’t. Thank you for everything, Tatjana! xoxo

I recently had the pleasure of staying in Rayn's entire condo on Paradise Island, Bahamas, and it exceeded all my expectations. The apartment is modern and impeccably clean, making for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The fantastic pool and gym are conveniently located within the apartment complex, and the beautiful Cabbage Beach is just a short walk away, adding to the overall appeal of the location. Rayn is a great host, always responsive and attentive to any needs or questions. I highly recommend this condo for anyone looking for a perfect getaway in the Bahamas!

Paradise Found at Bayview

ZofiaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had an amazing stay at Bayview. The house is so cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated that it instantly made us feel like home. It was equipped with everything we needed and even more. Not only were we given clear instructions on how to get there, but also there was a whole handbook prepared for us with recommendations on what to do, where to eat, or where to shop. Also, the location is perfect as almost everything you need is within walking distance of the house. Paradise Island itself was a true paradise and we’re glad we got to spend our dream vacation there. Thanks to Lauren and Marco for letting us stay at their beautiful house and making our stay in the Bahamas spotless!

Your guide to Nassau

Welcome to Nassau

Many people come to the Bahamas to swap the hustle and bustle of city life for days of idyll on white-sand beaches. But it would be a mistake to skip a visit to vibrant Nassau, the capital and largest city of this island paradise nation. The commercial and cultural hub of the Bahamas, its thriving port welcomes cruise ships, which has contributed to a lively harbour scene. The waterfront is home to restaurants, duty-free luxury shopping, and boutiques selling Bahamian arts and crafts.

During the day, beachcombers alight on pretty Cable Beach to lounge, play volleyball, and sip sky juice — a concoction of gin and coconut water. At night, upscale restaurants and buzzy clubs keep the festive atmosphere going. All of this takes place against a backdrop of grand Georgian architecture, a remnant of Nassau’s colonial past. Glam resorts have cropped up here, but Bahamian culture still dominates, particularly in an area known as Fish Fry, where rainbow-colored stalls serve up the catch of the day alongside hearty helpings of rice and beans.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Nassau

The Bahamas are a vacation mecca in part thanks to their reliably nice weather. You’re likely to encounter sunshine and warm temperatures any time of the year, although there are wet and dry seasons. Summers tend to bring rain, while winters are more arid. Hurricane season stretches from June to November, so it’s a good idea to keep tabs on the weather forecasts during those months. Expect crowds to swell during Spring Break, when the college crowd descends on Nassau. On December 26, July 10, and January 1, there are festive Junkanoo celebrations — street parties featuring colorful, intricate costumes; dancing; and general revelry.

Top things to do in Nassau

National Art Gallery of the Bahamas

Housed in the stately Villa Doyle, a white and yellow mansion built in the 1860s, this museum boasts four galleries showcasing the work of Bahamian artists. The vast collection includes pre-independence, turn-of-the-20th-century works alongside contemporary art in order to tell a story about the nation’s history and future. Check the calendar for a schedule of artist talks and other events.

Nassau Public Library

You would be hard pressed to find a more unique study space than this one. The library’s octagonal facade, circled by a pretty veranda and completed in 1800, was once a prison complete with a basement dungeon. Now the cells have been converted into reading nooks, while the upper floor displays historical artifacts. Visitors are welcome, but remember — sightsee at a respectful volume, or risk a shushing.

Fort Charlotte

Built by the British in 1788, the ruins of this fort offer plenty to explore, including a moat, underground tunnels, and a dungeon. There are also 42 cannons stationed here. On Wednesdays and Fridays, you can travel back in time as performers in period costume reenact historical scenes for visitors and fire off one of those cannons at noon.
