NAJO ' Oceanfront / Oceanfront VILLAS!!

MarleenRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We had a great time staying at Villas Najo. We basically had the place for ourselves, due to August being low season. The rooms are spacious and we loved the shower and the bedroom with the view right onto the beach and the ocean. The place is exactly as described on AirBnB. The place has an infinity pool with view onto the ocean, unfortunately you can only use it from 8am to 8pm. Best sunrises in the morning and the beach outside is packed with turtles at night. Sea urchins in the water, bring swim shoes. The place is mid island and we would recommend getting some kind of transportation otherwise it's too far to walk with the heat. We stayed for 13 days and over time rubbish builds up, we would recommend bringing some extra bin bags, as there are no extra in the AirBnB.

Tuscan Nights Luxury Apartment 1

DebraRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Firstly, the location is perfect. Yes there is a certain level of noise from neighboring restaurants and bars, but you’re in town so that’s to be expected. It’s a block from the pedestrian street Hidalgo and a short walk to North Beach and the beach clubs. The apt is decorated and furnished with anything you’d need for a relaxing stay. AC in the main area and both bedrooms. We enjoyed the small deck overlooking the side street below. We also got our espressos from Mahache’ and breakfast baguette sandwiches from Selena Poc Na. Both are a 2 min walk. We had a small communication glitch on arrival but Josh found us at our dinner spot and personally apologized. We’d love to go back!

Sotavento Isla D6 1-BR/1-Bath + Private Pool HFS

KenRating, 5 stars2 months ago
My recent stay with my girlfriend couldn’t have been better! We stayed for a week and the property was secure, peaceful, private, and had gorgeous views of the Cancun coastline. Its location on the southern end of the island lent itself to spectacular sunset views from the balcony and more enjoyably from the private rooftop soaking pool. Hector’s condo is on the sixth floor of one of several buildings on the Sotavento property. Note that the building does not have elevators, but property managers may be available at checkin to assist with luggage. You’ll want to rent a golf cart to easily get around the island. It takes about 20-30 minutes to travel from the more densely populated north end to the south end where this property is located. There’s a handful of restaurants and a convenience store within walking distance of the property. Hector was able to coordinate transportation to/from CUN, was responsive and accommodating, & can be trusted to make your stay as seamless as possible!

We LOVED Nico De Gallo! Location was perfect and right in the center of the action. Chema and his brother cooked for us and arranged our taxis for our early morning ferry.

Casa Nuova in Downtown Isla Mujeres

RobbinRating, 5 stars4 months ago
This is a very convenient place to stay in Isla Mujeres, you can easily walk to just about everything in town. The beds are comfortable and the air conditioner is cool. My only wish for this house is that it had some lamps so we didn't have to use the bright overhead lights at night.

Centrally located Penthouse with pool and ocean views

VirginiaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Our first visit to Isla and so happy we chose these accommodations. The hosts were fantastic, responded very quickly and were very accommodating. We arrived hours before the prescribed check -in time and Adrian was kind enough to ask the cleaning staff to let us in right away so we could drop off our luggage before grabbing a meal and exploring. The unit is large, modern, beautifully decorated and with a fantastic view, you can hear the sound of the waves. Special mention goes out for very comfortable beds. The roof top is beautiful and great for entertaining but we honestly just did not use it much because it was so dang hot outside. Kitchen had everything you need. The location is superb, quick walk to Playa Norte and steps away from Hidalgo Street and all the fantastic restautants there. We still rented a golf cart because exploring the island was one of the highlights and we always found parking right outside the entrance. Very happy with our choice!

Your guide to Isla Mujeres

All About Isla Mujeres

A popular day trip for travellers to Cancún via a short ferry ride, Isla Mujeres is known for its postcard-perfect white sand beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters, and craggy cliffs that tower over the Caribbean Sea. Popular activities here range from lounging on the beach to zip-lining over the sea. Isla Mujeres — which means “Island of Women'' in Spanish — was named for the Mayan goddess Ixchel, and her legacy still looms large here. Take time to delve into ancient Mayan culture, visit the island’s famous ruins, or scope out traditional handicrafts at the market. That is, when you are not parked on a sun lounger at one of the best beaches in the world, or sipping a beverage with sunset views at your vacation rental in Isla Mujeres.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Isla Mujeres

There are very few bad days in Isla Mujeres, which enjoys a tropical, sunny climate year-round. Winter is the most popular season to visit, as warm weather and low humidity make for a welcome respite for snow-weary travelers. In the summer, temperatures and humidity spike, and you can expect intermittent rain from May through September. The weather gets chillier in November and December, although it is still warm and temperate by any standards. For real fiesta vibes, come for Carnaval, which takes place every year for five days before Ash Wednesday (dates change yearly). From August through October, head to Playa Guadalupana to witness (from a distance) baby sea turtles making their journey towards the sea.

Top things to do in Isla Mujeres

Playa Norte

Consistently ranked as one of the best beaches in the world, Playa Norte is at the top of most must-see lists. With sugar-white sand and swaying palms bordering the turquoise water, it is a screensaver come to life. Spend the day snorkeling and sun-tanning before watching the sun set from one of the many beachside restaurants and bars.

MUSA Underwater Art Museum

Between Cancún and Isla Mujeres, you’ll find this one-of-a-kind underwater sculpture park. Renowned Mexican artists were commissioned to create pieces from natural materials, which now sit on the ocean floor, amongst coral reefs. The aim of the project — which is still ongoing — is to increase the mass of the reefs in the area, and provide more habitats for native marine life. Go on a snorkeling sculpture tour, or see the art from above on a glass-bottomed boat.

Mayan art at Punta Sur

Isla Mujeres got its name from the Mayan goddess Ixchel, and statues of her likeness have been unearthed here dating back to the 1500s. Wind your way up the cliffs of Punta Sur, where you’ll find an open-air sculpture garden, with 23 pieces dedicated to the goddess of love, fertility, and the moon. Don’t miss the Temple of Ixchel, a beautifully preserved Mayan ruin, where young women used to pray to the goddess for their fertility.
