Steps away from West coast beaches, restaurants

RichardRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Stayed at Pat's place for a friends 50th Birthday, that was hosted in Holetown and at the Sea Shed restaurant. Great location in the middle of the West Coast so easy to get around. We were out of the villa for most of the time we were there but enjoyed our stay! The kitchen had just about everything you would need for the visit, down to even a chips bag clasp! Beds were comfortable as were the cool air conditioning units. Wifi was very fast and easy to connect to. All in all we had a great stay and would stay again. Thank you John for being a great unrushed host! Thank you Pat for allowing us to stay at your villa. Richard

LaughTale - A hidden gem

SarahRating, 5 stars2 months ago
My stay at LaughTale was amazing. Tristengave great instructions on how to access everything and he was always super responsive when I called with additional questions. The house was very clean and so much nicer than the photos showed. When I checked in and Tristen even left complimentary snacks as a welcome treat. The best part was the back yard by the pool... absolutely breathtaking and relaxing and was nice to have a small gathering which everyonw enjoyed. I will certainly be booking my stay here again. Thanks Tristen for your exceptional service!

NyliahRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Where do I begin, Leah truly makes you feel like family. They are very attentive to details and are really good with local recommendations. Leah’s Place is truly a home away from home. Even though we left less than 12 hours ago we miss it already . We will definitely be booking this local again.

Exclusive Home w/Pool Near to Beaches/Sleeps 10

CherylRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Providence did not disappoint and the pictures don’t do this place justice! My family were so comfortable in this spacious beautiful home with much appreciated AC and outstanding amenities . The garden is so nice and quiet, the pool was clean and refreshing and the patio was so inviting. A vehicle is essential for this location. Although it’s just a few minutes drive from Oistins, it’s definitely not an easy walk to anywhere… mostly because there aren’t any sidewalks. John and his team were very attentive to our needs with very quick response time. I recommend John‘s place to all families that are looking for a home away from home in Barbados.

Anansi Villa

LiafizRating, 5 stars3 months ago
I made a reservation at Ian’s place for my wife and two daughters and this is their feedback: We had a great stay overall. Ian was incredibly responsive and friendly. We appreciated the thoughtful welcome pack provided. The property benefits from an excellent location with convenient transportation options, as buses run right in front of it. However, bear in mind it is situated on the main road. Also, you can hear barking from neighbouring dogs, neither of which bothered us. We enjoyed our time here and would happily choose to stay at this property again in the future.

We had a fantastic time in Bathsheba!! The view was fantastic from the house and I loved having easy access to walk the beach daily. This was our first time in Barbados. Jason and his family were very responsive to any issues and I found their book with local information helpful. Thanks so much for making our trip even better!

Ocean view in St James - Legacy

TetianaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Everything was good! Everything was clean! Air conditioning worked well, bathroom was big and worked well for us, all living spaces we’re comfortable and homey. We were there for a week and probably used the kitchen more than the average guest. A little more light in the kitchen would be nice, but that’s more a suggestion than a complaint. Sunsets were beautiful from the porch! Tips For the next guest: there are shopping bags in a drawer in the kitchen; if you go to Jordan’s Supermarket, take them with you and save a few cents over plastic bags. Also, there may be beer left in the fridge; we wound up drinking more rum and less beer than I anticipated. Return the bottles for the deposit. Cheers!😄

A group of 6 of us stayed at Lesley's "Lancewell House" for one week. We had a phenomenal time from check in to check out. The Villa was gorgeous, extremely clean, with all of the amenities you can think of. The Host was very accommodating and made sure that we were comfortable during our entire stay. The pool was a 10/10. If you plan on vacationing to Barbados, look no further and book Lancehouse house. You won't regret it!!! Thank you Lesley and team for adding to our memory book. Beachfront 2-bedroom cottage in a garden oasis

JonathanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Stunningly beautiful location, right on the beach, with incredible snorkeling at the end of the patio. The house was compact, but perfect for our small family of three, and well kitted out with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry, lots of gear for watersports, and a superb Weber barbecue. The only negative about the place - which is consistent with most of the West Coast - was that the traffic was very noisy. the buses -while efficient and well connected- rev like crazy, and tear along the road outside the house. Ear plugs and/or white noise are recommended for a good night's sleep. Don't let that put you off; the views from the garden across the Caribbean are exceptional, with a different sunset every day, and the sea-life you see within a two minute swim is varied and mesmerizing.

"Le Phare" - stylish & charming apt near the beach

ErynnRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We had a wonderful time at Le Phare! The condo size is absolutely perfect for two and has all the items one might need while on vacation. We were so thankful for the clear instructions and quick responses throughout our stay. After exploring all of the island my husband and I both agree Holetown is a very ideal location. We were a quick drive from our favourite Gibbes Beach and Batt’s Rock Beach and walking distance to the Holetown beach was a huge bonus. We also enjoyed the beach club pool and lounge chairs and few evenings-perfect spot to watch the sunset. Would absolutely recommend this accommodation for a couple looking for a nice quiet peaceful place to stay.

"The Studio at Gemini"

DaviRating, 5 stars2 months ago
I had a wonderful stay at The Studio at Gemini. Horace and Zalina were welcoming, informative, and went above and beyond to accommodate a last minute change to my itinerary. The studio is as described and I felt safe and secure as a solo traveler. Being able to do my own laundry was a bonus. The studio served my desire to self cater in a local community while close to transport and walking distance to the beach, supermarkets, and local attractions. The neighborhood is peaceful, walkable, and easy to navigate. I was happy to walk to the beach for early morning workouts or to the cafe for a good meal with an amazing view. My introduction to Barbados was phenomenal thanks to Horace and Zalina’s hospitality and warm welcome. I look forward to booking here again.

Two Bedroom Beachfront - White Sands Beach Condos

DonnaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We had a wonderful 3 weeks stay at White Sands we would definitely come back here to stay again. A couple of things happened when we were there and they were sorted straight away on the same day. The view from the balcony was breathtaking this is why we opted for the Beachfront Condo. The bed in the Master bedroom was HUGE & very comfortable. The maid came in twice a week & did a fantastic job she was lovely. The beach was lovely only problem I found was it was very rocky when you went in so definitely take some beach shoes with you. I did use the pool a lot yes it’s cold but very welcoming with it being so hot so I loved it. Thanks again for a great stay. I would definitely recommend this place.

PH2 -Luxury Oceanview 2BR Penthouse w/Rooftop Pool

TremaineRating, 5 stars1 week ago
El Sueno was a dream come true! From the moment we stepped in, we were absolutely stunned by the modern, spacious, and spotless penthouse. Photos couldn’t capture its magic – it was even better in person. The whole space was high-tech, with remotes everywhere to control lights, fans, and TVs, making luxury feel effortless. And then there was the deck: an oasis with a pool and a view that took our breath away. It was everything we could have hoped for and more. Preetam’s attention to detail went above and beyond, especially for our three-year-old, who was thrilled to find a princess toothbrush waiting for her. It was these thoughtful touches that made our stay so memorable. The penthouse was also stocked with local treats like beer and salt bread, giving us a warm taste of the region. When we met Preetam, he was incredibly welcoming, sharing his knowledge on the best places to see and visit. El Sueno exceeded every expectation, setting a new standard for Airbnb stays. A solid 10/5

BEACH FRONT PROPERTY, BARBADOS- RECENTLY RENOVATED

RheaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Seamless process from beginning to end . Great location to amazing restaurants and public transportation was easily accessible. There is a 24 hour gas station in the front where my kids love to go to get the native food Roti. There was also this cool place next door called Cici's which is right on the beach and cooked this amazing flying fish fish! One thing I can commend is the cleanliness of Barry's place and having a private oasis right at the back of the property you'd feel like you have your own private beach. Watching the sunrise drinking my coffee in the patio and having a glass of wine in the early evenings was definitely something I looked forward to . It was great to come back to the place after being out for awhile and being able to swim ! We have traveled a lot around the world and I have to say the people from Barbados are one of the most kindest people I've met. Barry was always there to help us with any questions we had. Highly recommend and will definitely be back !

Sandy View, The Penthouse at White Sands

ConnorRating, 5 stars1 day ago
We had a great stay at this place. The penthouse itself is large and spacious. The beds are all large and comfortable. The penthouse is in a good compound with good security. Communication was good throughout, putting us in touch with a local housekeeper who was great, and communicated clearly when they would visit for cleaning etc. The location is ideal in the quaint town of Speightstown, with some of the best beaches on the island, that are also not heavily busy. The property is situated 5 minutes walk from Speightstown and has good access to a variety of restaurants, and local transport options. We would definitely consider booking this place again in future.

Your guide to Barbados

Welcome to Barbados

The skinny palm trees rustling in the sea breeze, powdery soft beaches, and topaz-blue water of Barbados are so lovely you may wonder if you’ve been sucked into a screensaver. Nope — it turns out there are places on this earth that just look this way. This Caribbean island is known for its beautiful shorelines, marked not just by pretty beaches but by cliffs, secluded coves, and caves — including the Animal Flower Cave, famous for the abundance of sea anemones that cluster on its bumpy floor. The ocean is this island’s playground, and you can snorkel, dive, surf, and sail here. Come up for air and head into the historic capital city of Bridgetown, where you can partake of an open-air fish fry or upscale dining, and where you’ll find a thriving nightlife inflected with the sounds of calypso music. A former colony, Barbados earned its hard-won independence from the United Kingdom in 1966. That country’s influence remains, and tea and cricket are still popular here, but Barbados has a distinct culture all its own.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Barbados

Barbados is warm and sunny year round, though crowds are highest during the island’s dry season, which lasts roughly from winter through spring. During the wet season, you’re likely to experience daily rainfall, and days are warmer. In August the island celebrates the Crop Over Festival, marking the end of the sugar cane harvest, with days of music and dance performances, culminating in Grand Kadooment, a massive street party.

Top things to do in Barbados

Parliament Buildings

All of Bridgetown has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of the colonial architecture that lines its streets. The grand neo-Gothic parliamentary buildings of Barbados, whose construction began in 1871, are operating centers of government. But they also house a museum that chronicles the country’s journey from the pre-colonial era to independence. Interactive exhibits include displays honoring the country’s heroes, such as Bussa, an enslaved man who led a significant uprising in 1816.

Bottom Bay

On an island ringed by impressively perfect beaches, it’s hard to name the best one — but many choose Bottom Bay as their ideal spot. Protected by dramatic coral cliffs, this pristine pocket of white sand is decorated with waving palms and offers an uninterrupted view of eye-poppingly blue water. It’s an ideal spot for a picnic with a view, but not probably not a swim — strong currents abound. Consider this your excuse to simply relax on the sand.

Harrison’s Cave

Go spelunking in this incredible cave network that features a main chamber with 50-foot-high ceilings, otherworldly limestone stalactites, a wending stream network, and an underground waterfall. You can choose your level of adventure: opt for a leisurely tram tour, or slap on a lighted helmet and tromp through the caverns, occasionally crawling on your hands and knees.
