Bright attic apartment with lot of charmes

First of all, I liked that the place was very spacious and clean! The surroundings were quiet, so it was perfect for resting, and the view from the living room was amazing. The check-in process was very easy and the host was kind enough to communicate with us. If I ever come back to Switzerland, I would choose this place. I hope many people choose this place.

Martin and Ursula are such welcoming and great hosts. The location is great for exploring interlaken and the surrounding areas. Lovely space that makes you feel at home with everything you need, just ask Martin and Ursula for anything you need help with. They helped us with our laundry. Definitely would stay again! Just take note there are stairs.

Lucerne City charming Villa Celeste

CarineRating, 5 stars1 week ago
I have stayed here for the 3rd time. Always felt like home. My group of friends like it very much. Huge house with 3 bathrooms. We cooked our breakfast and dinner at the kitchen. All the utensils are complete. Spices. We just bought Canola oil and kitchen towel because it had run out. I will come back and stay here again.

It is a very cute house in the mountains. The hiking and climbing routes are the blast. For all ages. We were quite lucky with the weather and were walking above the clouds! Barbora was very friendly and gave us cool tips. The sauna and gym are perfect. We would book it again immediately. Maybe soon 😊 I have nothing to complain

Casa Darsena, lake charm

DanielRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Louise's place is 15 minutes from the heart of town, and between 15- 60 minutes from more than 20 things to do. The only regret I have is not meeting Louise in person- if you get the chance, do it. She stopped by while I was out 😄 She was a wonderful communicator from the beginning, and made herself available for any needs and recommendations. Her place [for me] was perfect. Many stairs, much walking- you will get a work out! I want to return to Gandria- and of course stay at Louise's! (And make it a point to meet her😉). On a scale of 1-5, it was a 10 đŸ€— #brokethescale

Rooftop Dream - Jacuzzi

LisaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a fabulous stay. We were central to all of the places we wanted to visit. We did public transportation all over Switzerland. Adrian was always in communication with me quickly, since the time I booked the flat, nine months the ago. This was our first international trip, and we were very happy to have such a warm welcome with all of the questions. The flat was beautiful and peaceful. It rained a couple days, but the terrace was still great to sit outside with a blanket and heater. The hot tub was great after a day of running around site seeing. We truly appreciate our first experience in Switzerland.

Studio DĂ€rligen (near Interlaken)

NikiRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A peaceful and cozy stay with friendly host! This place is a great value that suitable for 1-2 persons. The house is well-equipped and the host had even provided food like pasta, bread, drinks, and condiments that good enough for cooking if you don’t want to spend more eating out. Just like the photos, the amazing lake view is another plus point! The place is close to the bus stop to Spiez and Interlaken, about 2-3 mins walking distance to the bus stop and about 20 minutes bus ride to Speiz. Roger respond to our texts and requests very fast and very helpful! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and had a great time! I would highly recommend this space if you travel to Switzerland.

Jungfraublick OG, Interlaken West an der Aare

HeidiRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
What an amazing place! The pictures simply do not do it justice. Peaceful and so comfortable, we could sit out on the deck and watch the mountains all day and never leave the place. It is so spacious and comfortable and clean with all amenities needed and with views that words cannot adequately describe. The water flowing by and the snow-capped mountains and beautiful yards and homes surrounding make you never want to leave. Grocery store and delicious bakery within a couple of blocks and rooms so spacious and comfortable, staying here is a vacation itself even if you never leave the home! Stunning panoramic view from huge windows! Beautiful craftsmanship in this home. However, the location is so perfect for day trips, walking, trains, boats, etc., and Helen and Ruedi are such great communicators that check in was a breeze and made us feel right at home. We loved their local suggestions and will always look to their place first for any return trips to Interlaken. Thank you!

Highly recommended, and we’d love to come back!

Panoramic APT in the vineyard & breathtaking view

ConnorRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Cannot recommend this place and Queein enough. To start with the views are breathtaking, the location is perfect as you can see the lake, vineyards and the mountains. The air bnb was beautifully decorated, clean and cosy. One thing that helped massively were the little notes left around with instructions. Queein was super lovely, answered all my questions and checked on us multiple times throughout the stay, even recommending local places to eat. She really made our stay perfect. There wasn’t a single downside to the holiday. Thank you again Queein looking forward to our next stay! ❀

There are places on our land that have a soul

ValerieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Very stylish and comfortable place in an historic village in a pretty part of Switzerland. Owing to the crevices in the old timbers in parts of the building there were a few more bugs and spiders than I cared for but I should have anticipated this. The church clock rings 70 times at 5:30 in the morning! Nevertheless we very much enjoyed our 4 nights here. Next village of Grandvillard has a self-guided walking tour of its historic houses- recommended. Despite rain, we enjoyed the Desalpe in Charmey -when they bring the cows back down for winter. Sophie provided a big umbrella for us for this festival day.

We had a great weekend at the tiny house "the shed". The place was beautiful , in the nature. And the comfort of the little cottage was optimal. We even had the opportunity to get a little raclette in the evening đŸ€— And all this is a 10-minute walk from the train stop.

"al alba" in atmospheric, quiet loft

AndreaRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We enjoyed staying in this beautiful loft very much. We were very warmly welcomed by Gema and cared for during the stay. We experienced Gema as very loving, friendly and helpful and the communication - both in advance and during the stay - we found excellent. Gema provided us with all the important information and we could send a message at any time and Gema responded promptly and very friendly. We felt very comfortable and welcome and would like to thank you again very much for the encounter and for the great care. The apartment is very lovely and stylish and very clean. The breakfast was very versatile, fresh and very delicious. We also enjoyed the location of the Airbnb very much. By public transport, you can reach Bern in about 13 minutes. We highly recommend the place.

We loved our stay at this Airbnb in Ennatmoos! The views were breathtaking, & the host was wonderful — she even prepared us a generous breakfast both mornings we were there! We didn’t have a car so spent our time relaxing & exploring the property (& saying hello to the goats)! If you don’t have a car, you can order pizza for delivery (delivery is free) from Ristorante Pizzeria Da Pippo (one of Martina’s recommendations) — the pizza was delicious!! Overall loved this relaxing, cozy, beautiful airbnb! Highly recommend.

L'Abraca d 'Arbaz, the magic of the bisse

SebRating, 5 stars1 day ago
The place is beautiful, on the path of several hikes (you will occasionally meet hikers on this path that borders the cottage) with fantastic scenery, great stay! The calm, the noise of the bisse. Accessible without a car, grocery store 5min by bus in case (pay attention to schedules, limited frequencies). Thanks to Joachim for his attention. I highly recommend it!

Your guide to Switzerland

Welcome to Switzerland

There’s a version of Switzerland many know from storybooks: soaring alps covered in pristine snow, picturesque villages nestled among green pastures dotted with wildflowers, and peaked castles reflected in expansive lakes. You can find that wonderland here — alongside hardy skiers, pots of warm fondue, and packets of sweet milk chocolate — but Switzerland has a thrillingly urbane side, too. Medieval and modern architecture mingle in chic metropolitan centers Zurich, Geneva, and Basel, which pulse with cutting-edge culture and nightlife. Ringed by Germany, France, and Italy, Switzerland exudes a truly international culture, and ritzy aprùs-ski scenes and opulent lakeside resort towns rival any European locale for sheer luxury. Yet it remains tough to compete with the natural allure of the country, whose landscape boasts glaciers, mighty rivers, more than 1,000 lakes, and pastoral plateaus.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Switzerland

Deciding when to go to Switzerland depends on how you want to optimize your trip. Spring is verdant and summer is warm and sunny. Temperatures are cool in the fall during harvest season, and in winter it’s brisk and snow falls in the mountains. Winter, of course, is the ideal time for snow sports and coziness. The country doesn’t experience extreme weather, and a suitcase packed with layers will see you through most seasons. Switzerland is host to world-class events year round, including the Ski World Cup in Wengen in January; the Lucerne Festival, a massive celebration of classical music that takes place in Lucerne every August and September; and the legendary Art Basel, which alights in the eponymous city in September, showcasing thousands of artworks from around the world.

Top things to do in Switzerland

Zurich

Cosmopolitan Zurich is Switzerland’s largest and perhaps most fascinating city. Renowned for its hip atmosphere, it’s also an eminently liveable place with a free bike-sharing program. Spend your days among the significant art collections of the Kunsthaus and the Rietberg museums and your nights at ZĂŒrich-West, a former industrial hub reimagined as a nexus of nightlife and culture.

Schloss Chillon

A trip to stunning Lake Geneva isn’t complete without a visit to this elegant fortress. Get a sense of Switzerland’s medieval past at this 25-building castle from which royals once gazed down upon their kingdom. Guided tours will take you past 14th-century wall paintings and into subterranean chambers. Nighttime events allow visitors to explore the compound until midnight.

Take a train trip

One of the prettiest and most relaxing ways to cover a lot of ground in Switzerland is by rail. Hop aboard the Glacier Express to swoosh through wintry Alpine landscapes featuring staggering peaks and glacial lakes. The Bernina Express threads through varied landscapes and picturesque towns and features open-air cars in the summer.
