Ocean Beach Bungalow

CurtisRating, 5 starstoday
Melissa was a great and very accommodating host. She was kind and thoughtful. The space was cheery and cute! Very clean. Great shower and amenities. Easy clean up. We had our dog with us and we all felt comfortable and at home there. It was a really great stay and should we find ourselves in the area again we would gladly stay again. Finding truly pet friendly places can be a challenge but this felt very pet and human friendly.

Recently Remodeled Guest Suite in Prime Location

SaraRating, 5 stars3 days ago
I think this is my third stay at Mary Clare's. I always look to see if it is open when traveling to SF. I feel so relaxed as soon as I enter her place. It is very peaceful, and very clean. I am thankful to have found such a great place to stay when visiting my daughter. The neighborhood is wonderful and you can easily walk to both Presidio and Golden Gate Park. I will be back to stay if it is not booked up.

This place was great! Cozy, close to the ocean, Golden Gate Park, bus lines, restaurants, etc. Adorable backyard where we’d sit and read or have breakfast. Probably our favorite part was Stella, the very sweet, cuddly, playful dog!

Beautiful Private Garden Apt. Nr. Golden Gate Park

MarcRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This was our first time staying at Toni’s but it won’t be our last. This a great location a couple of blocks from the Park in one direction and a few blocks to Clement and Geary with lots of restaurants and shops in the other direction. The flat itself met our needs perfectly and Toni is a great host. No need for a car since the Muni system is easy to navigate and SF is great for Uber/Lyft. A wonderful place to enjoy a great city. And, if you are a runner GG Park is a great place to run as is the Presidio up to the GG Bridge (under 10 miles R/T, including crossing the bridge).

Studio on Sunny Side of Bernal - Decklounge Views

Fabio_BRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a fantastic stay! The location is unbeatable, the neighborhood is peaceful, and the view is stunning. The studio has everything you could need, even the little touches that make a big difference when you're away from home. The kitchen was a lifesaver for us, as we had a baby to feed and it was fully equipped with everything from a stove to a microwave and even an oven! Michael was a great host and offered his help, although we didn't need it. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in San Francisco.

Relaxed Apartment with a Patio in The Castro

SpencerRating, 5 stars1 week ago
My partner and I lived in SF for years, and we stayed here for a few days before moving away. As a local San Franciscan, I can honestly say that an Airbnb DOES NOT GET BETTER THAN THIS! The place was easy to access, beautiful and clean, and had everything we needed. The decor was unique to SF and had true character. Local books, guides, etc, were also available, and the garden is stunning. Plus, you're just a short, easy walk to Castro & 18th and Castro & Market, the hub of Castro life, with cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, bars. Would 100% recommend staying here!

Private 1BR/1BA one block near Golden Gate park

KaeliRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Incredibly clean and quaint spot in a great location - steps from the Park and a few minute drive to the beach! Emily was super friendly, responsive and willing to accommodate. As described in her listing you can often hear footsteps from above and from guest staying in adjacent rental, but this did not affect our experience. Highly recommend!

Your guide to San Francisco

All About San Francisco

Surrounded on three sides by glittering water, punctuated by comically high hills, festooned with verdant public parks, and alternately enshrouded in mysterious fog and blazing sunshine, San Francisco is one of the prettiest places on earth. The city has long attracted iconoclasts and fortune seekers, in the shape of Gold Rush hopefuls, immigrants who fought to build thriving communities, and queer people seeking a home and civil rights. It’s a city of glorious contrasts: storybook Victorians and soaring skyscrapers; the bright, pinging amusements of Fisherman’s Wharf and the austere beauty of Ocean Beach. Like the rest of the Bay Area — which includes Oakland to the east, Marin to the north, and San Jose to the south — San Francisco continues to transform. But its scruffy, proudly independent roots are never far from the surface.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in San Francisco

San Francisco has a legendarily capricious climate — hot, sunny days can turn chilly on a dime, so no matter what time of year it is, pack layers. March through June typically ushers in temperatures in the low-to-mid-60 degrees Fahrenheit. July through October is generally warmer, with temperatures in the high 60s or low 70s. Fall is often considered this city’s summer. November through February is brisk, with temperatures dipping into the 50s. Expect some fog and wind year round.

Top things to do in San Francisco

Golden Gate Park

Opened in 1870, this park’s 1,017 acres are the undisputed jewel of the park system (and that’s saying a lot). Visit close to 2,000 species of rare, tropical, and aquatic plants inside the stately Conservatory of Flowers. Explore an indoor rainforest at the California Academy of Sciences, and surround yourself with world-class art at the de Young Museum. Ride a carousel, paddle a boat around Stow Lake, or stroll through the Japanese Tea Garden. Just don’t expect to do it all in one day.

Alcatraz

This tiny island in the bay, now a National Park, has a complicated and fascinating history. Best known as the home of an (almost) inescapable federal prison populated by notorious criminals, Alcatraz is also the site of a historically significant protest led by Native American activists, who occupied the island for nineteen months starting in 1969 to protest the US government's failure to surrender federal land owed to the tribes who once lived there. A trip to Alcatraz to learn about its many lives is well worth it. Tickets go fast, so plan ahead and book your voyage early.

Golden Gate Bridge

Completed in 1937, this gorgeous 1.7-mile-long Art Deco wonder is renowned for its hue — a color so distinct it has its own name: International Orange. Walking, biking, or driving are all wonderful ways to experience this architectural marvel, and on the Marin side you’ll find a rest stop with bathrooms and breathtaking views of the bridge and bay. One thing to note: If you walk or bike, wear layers, as it can get very windy crossing the bridge.
