My Son and I had a amazing stay ! I loved the aesthetics and vibe the home had. Very calming. Perfect for a long stay or a short one . We enjoyed the landscaping, and the plants that was all through out the home. One of my best stays yet. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for making our stay a home away from home.

Lakefront-Marina in back! Get-a-way in New Orleans

GraceRating, 5 stars3 days ago
My family and I had a wonderful time in New Orleans the house was amazing and the views were beautiful. This was the perfect place to retreat to after a day/night in the city. If your not familiar with New Orleans don’t hesitate that you will be too far from activities if hanging by the water is your thing there are tons of places to eat and 2-3 grocery shops within a 5 min drive. This house is a 15-20 min Uber ride to the quarter. Watching the sailboats come in and out of the marina was my favorite part! If you have kids this place has plenty of space! We will for sure book again in the future!

A Cozy Suite on Bayou St John

StephanieRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Maxie and Lydia were excellent hosts. Our flight came in very late so the self check-in was really helpful and easy to use. Also, they left a light on for us inside so we weren't coming into an unknown place at night in the dark and we thought that was really thoughtful!! They responded to messages quickly and gave very clear instructions for check-in and check-out. The place was clean and suited our needs perfectly. Would definitely recommend!

East Camptons - Lakefront with private pier & dock

MichelleRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We had a great time at Patty’s place for our family vacation! The place was clean and looked exactly like the pictures. We had a great time relaxing on the balcony with our dogs and catching crabs. The house is about 35 minutes from downtown which was a very reasonable drive for a day trip. Only downsides were that the tap water was a little smelly and the TV/internet service was quite slow. This didn’t really impact our stay much though. We would happily stay here again!

Cajun Saint Outdoors - Cozy Camp Over The Water

AustinRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a blast staying @ Shane’s place. This house is in a perfect location. We were able to keep the boat right next to the house tied up to the dock which made for effortless access to get on the water early. The house has a great layout and is super comfortable. This was a truly top notch experience. Thanks Shane!

Lake Leisure 3 Bedroom with Pool

RaymondRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Joe was always responsive and timely with any questions I had during our stay. The location of the fishing camp was perfect, and the pool was great for our kids and great to cool off in. The access to the lake was made easy with the dock location and the area around the dock was free of old pickings so we didn’t have to worry about hitting anything with the boat or worry about the kids jumping on anything when swimming in the lake. The elevator made it very convenient for loading and unloading our luggage up to the camp. Underneath the camp was wide open which made a great atmosphere for boiling seafood and frying fish. I would recommend staying at Joe’s camp, and we look forward to staying there again in the future!

Family Friendly Waterfront Home | Private backyard

YouaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Before our visit, David recommended things to do and restaurants to try. His instructions for check-in and accessing the internet was easy to follow. The area is absolutely beautiful as well as the property. Our family of 8 people were able to comfortably stay in the house. It was very spacious, lots of room to be together and also have alone quiet time. he kitchen had all the necessary equipmentto cook very delicious meals which we did. The boys went fishing and crabbing on the dock pier and had so much fun. They caught a lot of blue crab, croakers, trout, and catfish. The beds were comfortable so we had good sleep after long days in town. The best part for me was getting to sit on the deck to watch the sunrise and sunset when we were there. It was just the perfect place to spend time together. Can't wait to come back to New Orleans and stay here again.

Pelican Pier Beach House on Lake Catherine

KerryRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Wow!!! Our family love an airbnb and we have covered many on our road trip this time but this is the best airbnb we have EVER stayed at! The house was immaculate, the host had covered anything we could think we might need and the fishing kept us entertained the whole time. Karen was super friendly and responsive. It’s not cheap but I wouldn’t let that put you off, it’s worth every single penny. Thanks Karen for having us, next time we travel from England again we will be booking and recommending.

This is now one of my new favorite places to stay when I visit the New Orleans area. The house was very comfortable with an awesome kitchen and very comfortable beds. The views were amazing and had a complete wrap around deck along with a fenced yard. I will gladly stay here again and recommend anyone else thinking about staying here to do it, you won't be disappointed.

Uptown Home in Superb Location

AshleyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This was our first time going to New Orleans and staying at Anthony’s place. The house was perfect for us. Clean & spacious. We had six people with us so having 2 bathrooms was really helpful! The house is located away from all the high tourist areas but still had so many restaurants within a minute walk. We used the trolley to go everywhere including the French quarter. It was so easy to use and convenient because we did not have to find parking! We were gone all day but would come back in the evening and relax in the most comfortable beds while watching tv on the multiple available streaming services. The trolley is a tad loud at night but after the first night getting used to new sounds it was honestly fine when having the provided sound machines on. We plan on coming back in the future & hoping to be able to book this place again!

JessRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Anne's spot is wonderful! the house itself is very cute and clean and has a sweet little back patio that was a lovely break from the action of the city. the house is in a great location; it's super walkable to a lot of fun areas, restaurants, etc. Anne was really responsive with me and helpful in her recommendations for the area. I'd totally stay there again if I were to go back to New Orleans.

Your guide to New Orleans

Introduction

New Orleans offers a round-the-clock festive spirit 12 months a year. Live music, particularly jazz, rings through streets lined with buildings dating back to the early 1800s. That’s when the city’s trademark Creole architecture, a mix of influences from the French, Spanish, and Caribbean was developed, adding a distinctly New Orleans touch. While the lively French Quarter gets all the attention, also explore the Marigny and Bywater, which have a more artsy vibe, and Audubon — surrounding Audubon Park — which is known as the University District thanks to Tulane and Loyola Universities. If you’re looking to visit more of the New Orleans metro area, Metairie is just to the northwest, Chalmette about 10 miles east, and Slidell about 34 miles northeast.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in New Orleans

February through May is prime time to stay in one of NoLA’s vacation rentals, when highs are in the mid-60s to mid-80s Fahrenheit and lows hover between the 50s to 70s — it’s also perfectly timed to celebrations such as Mardi Gras and the French Quarter Festival. December and January are also pleasant months — with the bonus of fewer crowds — when highs are in the 60s and lows typically don't fall below the mid-40s. Summer and fall can be more challenging, as stifling heat, mixed with humidity, reaches the 90s. June usually has the highest precipitation, and hurricane season lasts from June through November.

Top things to do in New Orleans

French Quarter

The legendary Bourbon Street is the most popular street in this historic neighborhood, and indulgence is a way of life here. But the district is also known for its majestic Jackson Square (where local artisans often display their work in an open-air market), jazz clubs, steamboat cruises, and fresh beignets with chicory coffee.

Garden District

A streetcar ride away from the French Quarter is a visual juxtaposition to the French Quarter — a chill suburban neighborhood dominated by grand mansions. Also stop at Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, which houses the tombs of early settlers from Ireland and Germany, or opt for one of the city’s cemetery tours to learn more about the history of this great city.

Mardi Gras World

Experience New Orleans’ most famous festival any time of year at this facility, where 80 percent of the Mardi Gras floats are built.
