LargePrivate guest suite in bayfront house

KatharinaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The apartment met all expectations. I felt very comfortable. The bed was insanely comfortable so I could sleep very well. Of course, the way to Manhattan from Rockaway Beach is not the shortest, but I knew that in advance. Within 75 minutes I was "in the middle" of whether I went by train or boat. Supermarket and the recommended "restaurant" are also within walking distance (5 minutes). Even as a woman traveling alone, I felt safe in the area. The fact that you were on the beach within a few minutes' walk in the most beautiful weather was rounded off.

New Luxury Home Ground Floor kids friendly parking

KiammyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My friends and I were looking for an Airbnb after a terrible experience with a previous property that was poorly maintained. We were fortunate to find a new place the next day, and Gershon responded within minutes. Upon our arrival, he provided simple instructions, making it easy to access the property. We were all impressed by how clean the unit was; it smelled wonderful. Every room, including the bathrooms, was spotless. Gershon checked in on us every day and asked if we needed anything, ensuring we felt safe and comfortable. Although he wasn’t aware of our earlier Airbnb experience, he made us feel welcome and attended to our requests. Additionally, he was extremely helpful, allowing us to store our luggage in the unit until it was time for us to leave. I would highly recommend this Airbnb!

Mott Haven Room

LexxRating, 5 stars2 days ago
We had an great 7-day stay at Clarissa and Tano’s apartment in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the Bronx. The space was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, which made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The hosts were communicative and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, even offering great local recommendations. Mott Haven has a vibrant community feel with a mix of great restaurants and grocery stores just a short walk away. Getting around was also very easy thanks to nearby public transit options, specifically the 6 train. Overall, our stay exceeded expectations. We truly enjoyed our time here and would absolutely stay again. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to explore NYC from a different neighborhood!

This is our second time staying here, and we’ve enjoyed it both times! It’s a convenient location to get to Sleepy Hollow (where we were spending time), and the home itself is charming and clean. I especially appreciated the extra blankets for cool evenings. The host was also communicative with us prior to our stay to ensure we were clear on how to access the unit. Highly recommend!

Family House 12 miles from NYC

StephanieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This house was beautiful, clean and clutter free, and it felt very homey. There was plenty of space and the rooms are spread out nicely. It's great for friends or families to have enough room to have their own spaces and spend time together. The back deck area was so cozy and I loved the lights at night. The kitchen was large with all new appliances and had everything you could need. We had a great time going to the American Dream Mall which was only 15 minutes away and we enjoyed the Bronx Zoo as well. The only tough part was finding parking as only one of our cars fit in the driveway and sometimes street parking was limited. But we had a wonderful stay and think it's a great place for anyone visiting NYC or NJ. Heba was also very responsive and helpful!

New luxurious 3 BR 2.5BA Duplex W/Backyard

KatyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Jackie and Dev were great hosts! The house was immaculate, had everything we needed. Very quiet area of town. The parking at the liberty parking lot is better than described (we avoided at first due to the paid part) but it was very reasonable on weekdays and even free on weekends and easily walkable instead of looking for street parking! The hosts even had candy on the counter which the kids greatly appreciated :) we spent the weekend going back and forth into the city. Highly recommend this for a stay in NJ! Thank you!

Absolutely loved staying at Beverly’s during a visit to the city for some concerts. Absolutely spotless when we arrived, spacious, and the neighborhood was more quiet than expected so it was a super nice and relaxing spot. Beverly was there to greet us and was very responsive whenever I had a question. I recommend the diner around the corner as well!

Your guide to Jersey City

All About Jersey City

Jersey City, set across the Hudson River from Lower Manhattan, is one of the largest cities in the state of New Jersey. The city’s walking paths and parks along the waterfront are some of its biggest draws, offering stunning views of the Statue of Liberty and a clear panoramic view of New York City’s towering skyline. For a closer look at the Statue of Liberty, you can take a short ride from Jersey City’s port across the Hudson to Liberty Island. The port is also the access point to another iconic landmark — the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration, where artifacts like lost luggage and old photographs represent the more than 12 million immigrants who’ve passed through the island.

Further inland, Jersey City’s Historic Downtown neighborhood is lined with late-Victorian brick buildings that house independent boutiques, designer dog treats, and antique furniture. Newark Avenue’s pedestrian-only block is home to artisanal eateries and unique shops as well as outdoor markets. With regular, fast trains to Manhattan, Jersey City is also a convenient and affordable home base for exploring the Big Apple.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Jersey City

Summers are warm and humid and usually see the most rain of the year. In summer, street festivals are in full swing, and the city’s JC Fridays offer free open-door art exhibits in galleries, restaurants, and conference spaces across Jersey City. Fall brings cool and comfortable temperatures as well as the All About Downtown Street Fair event, which hosts more than 100 vendors, including eateries and gelato stands along with booths with handmade jewelry and crafts.

Winters are usually frigid and snowy in Jersey City. The Happy Holiday Market takes place through December, where vendors sell handmade goods. Spring is warm and pleasant during the day and can get cold at night. Groove on Grove’s outdoor free weekly concert series begins this time of year, with musical performances for all ages plus a makers’ market.

Top things to do in Jersey City

Montgomery Street

Some of Jersey City’s most popular vintage clothing stores and furniture consignment shops are on and around Montgomery Street in downtown. You can find treasures from bygone days within two blocks north and south of this shopping hub, including vinyl records and secondhand books, mixed in with high-end clothing and jewelry boutiques.

Liberty State Park

The 1,200-acre Liberty State Park’s waterfront path is best explored by bike, with the Manhattan skyline providing a stunning backdrop. Stop along the way for some of the closest views of the Statue of Liberty. The park’s Empty Sky memorial is a somber tribute to the lives lost on September 11, facing the Lower Manhattan spot where the Twin Towers once stood.

Mana Contemporary

This two-million-square-foot cultural center is housed in a former 1920s warehouse that’s been converted into a modern, bright art space. Each floor hosts exhibits, including fine art, photography, light installations, and sculptures, by a mix of legendary artists and on-the-rise local and international creatives.
