Casita Rojo- Charming Downtown Paso

GaryRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We've stayed here before and returned because we love everything about it. It's perfect for the two of us looking for a long weekend in Paso Roble wine country, but also want to stay in downtown near restaurants, shops, and local happenings. The house is beautiful and well maintained, clean, and most importantly comfortable. There's parking in the front and reserved parking in the back. The kitchen has everything you need if you don't want to eat out all the time. And the communication from our hosts and instructions are everything we need. This is our first-choice place to stay when we travel to Paso.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The surroundings are beautiful as you sit perched above the vines. The inside of the home was well decorated with everything that we needed for our stay. It was a quick trip to town for food and other necessities. Perfect base camp for a trip to Paso Robles. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our time at the Wine Country Bungalow. It was easy to reach all the activities we had planned, wineries, brewery tours and not to far to the coast ! we would definitely check its availability if coming to the central coast/ Paso Robles area again.

Boots and Barrels Wine Escape

DavidRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This was a great place to stay with another couple as we enjoyed our wine tasting adventures. My wife usually does not sleep well the first night anywhere, but the bed was so comfortable, she slept very well. We all did! Home is well kept and clean. The large sectional in front room was also comfortable. We appreciated the olive oil available to use while cooking a meal and other condiments. Next time we won’t need to bring as many. Certainly will be back to this place if shared with another couple. Too big for just two people. Jacuzzi was clean and nicely heated. Thank you, Alex, for a wonderful, comfortable experience at your home!

Coach House Cottage | Firepit | Pet Friendly

JoeRating, 5 starstoday
We stayed for our engagement trip. It was a Beautiful location and they accommodated our 4 legged travel buddies. It's right across from Niner Winery (you can see the heart from the huge master window). Mostly secluded but very close to the 46. Hosts were super responsive, but we didn't need anything. Great for the fall months.

We couldn’t have picked a better place to spend the week in Paso! We traveled with our dogs (competed in a national dog agility event in town), and they absolutely loved their walks in the vineyard after long days at the competition. The entire property is beautiful, well-kept, and charming. Adding this one to our favorites!

Carol was very informative and the book she provided had wonderful information about the place. It was nicely furnished and easy to use. Wonderful setting to relax with the craziness we were in the area for. Bathroom was on the small size, but we were able to make it work. Everything was clean and well thought out.

The stay was beyond our expectations. The container home was heavily appointed with everything one would ever need to enjoy a relaxing getaway with tranquility and peace. Your guide to Paso Robles

All About Paso Robles

Paso Robles — Paso to locals — is a laid-back mission town founded on the historic El Camino Real. Over the years it has had many lives: as a railroad stop, a mill town, and as Almond City, which once had the most almond orchards in the world. Today, its rich history blends with modern amenities and an injection of youth from neighboring college towns. It's all set against a backdrop of the Santa Lucia Coastal Mountain Range: oak-studded peaks that descend into rolling hills, laced with vineyards and peppered with ranches. It's the kind of getaway where you're just as likely to see a horse or a tractor on the country roads as a limousine full of wine tasters.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Paso Robles

Though a temperate climate makes Paso Robles a good place to visit year-round, mid-fall is a favorable season. It's when the temperature is warm but not as scorching as the summer (October highs still hit 81 degrees Fahrenheit), making it easier to take advantage of the region's many outdoor activities. Plus, fall is wine harvest month, so the vineyard tasting rooms are in full swing. This is also when most of the local festivals take place, and accommodations book up in advance, so plan ahead. August is the hottest month, with an average high of 92 degrees. Winter is cool but pleasant. December is the coldest month, with an average high of 60 degrees, but the temperature occasionally drops down into the 30s.

Top things to do in Paso Robles

Paso Robles Wine Country

With more than 200 wineries, Wine Country has no shortage of places to sample the area’s biggest export. From downtown’s cluster of modern tasting rooms to scenic country wineries deep in the Santa Lucia Mountains, there is a wine tasting journey for every type of traveler. The region's diverse soils and long growing season produce more than 60 varieties of world-class wines.

Morro Bay

A popular day trip from Paso Robles is Morro Bay, reachable by car in under an hour. This quaint coastal town packs block after block of charm, but the real draw is its iconic volcanic outcropping, Morro Rock, as well as Morro Rock Beach and Morro Bay State Park, which has lagoons and marshes rich with marine life.

Lake Nacimiento

Water sports abound at Paso Robles' recreational Lake Nacimiento. With 18 miles of open water, plus a river, coves, and inlets, this lake is a favored year-round spot for wakeboarding, waterskiing, and tubing. It's also a popular place to cast a line from the shore and fish for white bass and other lake fish.
