We want to help make communities stronger, but we can't do it alone
Australia is facing unprecedented challenges when it comes to housing. The causes of these issues are complex, but we recognise there’s more we can do to help. And we’re calling on policymakers to work with us to get the balance right.
Australia is facing unprecedented challenges when it comes to housing. The causes of these issues are complex, but we recognise there’s more we can do to help. And we’re calling on policymakers to work with us to get the balance right.

Here’s what we’re already doing
We're investing in solutions that balance the benefits of home sharing with the needs of the community.

Working with housing experts
We worked with housing experts Urbis to surface up-to-date data on our impact on the housing market, allowing for better informed policy decisions that help the community.

Sharing our data
We built the City Portal, a first-of-its-kind resource to help local governments and tourism organisations better understand the tourism trends in their community, as well as helping cities enforce their short-term rental laws.

Supporting local housing programs
We donated $1 million to not-for-profit organisation HOPE Housing, allowing them to focus on attracting further investment to help more key workers realise their dream of home ownership.
With government support, we can do even more
Every Australian state and territory is different and requires rules tailored to its own unique needs. Working together with policymakers, we can introduce fair short-term rental regulation that is designed with the local community in mind.
Hosting is a lifeline for many
In helping to make communities stronger, we can’t forget about our hosts. More and more everyday Australians are relying on the extra income hosting provides just to make ends meet.
We’ll always take safety seriously
From party bans to reservation screening, support lines to solo traveller features, we’ve invested in a myriad of solutions to help keep local communities safe. And we always will.
