We visited Janos and his wife's home with the whole family, 2 adults and 4 kids. We enjoyed ourselves very much. There was good and space for all to be just. There were 3 toilets as a bonus. Full of raspberry, currant, etc. in the back that we could pick off every morning. There was a great fun playground just 5 min walk away from the house. We were thrilled with our place.

Architect's house with panoramic view

Zsofi’s place was absolutely beautiful! Location is so peaceful and unique. The house is close to the grocery shop, train station, Danube beach and also some great nearby hikes. Zsofi was very friendly and responsive. Her check in instructions were super clear and easy to follow. Check in and check out are self managed, which makes things even easier when traveling. I highly recommend that place to everyone who wants to unwind and relax on the Danube Bend.

Splendid Residence in Historic Building by the Basilica

NancyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This is a great place to stay in Budapest. The location is ideal--easy access to public transportation, the docks for river cruises, and many touristic sites. Dozens of restaurants within easy walking distance, both upscale restaurants and local bistros. The flat is very well equipped--everything from extra toiletries to things like bathrobes and shower sandals. The host was particularly helpful when the High Mass at St. Stephens ran a bit after the checkout time.

Spacious Home in City Center with Danube Views

JaniceRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
OMG! The first thing that greeted us when we arrived was the awesome view. Especially at night with the lights of the city. Entry was very easy with hosts excellent instructions. Kim was also responded very quickly to any questions. The place was so spacious! Large living room and bedroom. We were 2 friends traveling together and the layout of the apartment was perfect for separate private sleeping areas. Convenient: located close to several transportation lines. Also steps from the famous marketplace and Aldi for groceries. Highly recommend!

Basilica view II Central apartment

VikasRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The location is perfect. The view of the Basilica from the bay window is spectacular. You are in the middle of all the action and walking distance from most places. The apartment is spacious for two people. The building is very old, so it is going to have "character". Be prepared for it. It was very helpful to have Kata let us in and gives us the tips for elevator, common lights, washer, heater, external window blinds, gas range, etc. But, everything works. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and dishes. Kata really cares that you have a great time. She was prompt with replies. Had lots of suggestions. Went out of her way to check availability of night river cruise. She is a top host.

Had a great stay! Apartment was very cool and had everything you needed. Great location. Easy to walk to a ton of stuff. Note: during our stay (mid May 2025), heavy construction was happening on the road right outside so it was very noisy during the day. If this would bother you’d, I’d recommend not booking in the next few weeks.

Full Panorama to the Danube

JuditRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We enjoyed our 5-day stay at the apartment. It is in a beautiful area, equipped with the necessary items, could use the washing machine easily and loved the view from the balcony. One note, if you are very tall, be carefully close to the walls as this is a rooftop apartment. Also you need to be able to walk up and down 76 steps as there is no elevator, but if you can do it, it is worth the effort!!!

Old Stone Party Villa

AndrásRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Imre is a fantastically friendly and caring host. We rented it for a bachelor party for a weekend, which was a great success! A spacious venue provided an opportunity for an 11-person LAN party for whiskey tasting and cooking. Due to the location's characteristics, we were not disturbed and we did not disturb others with loud music or conversation in the middle of the night. Imre was absolutely flexible when leaving, there was no problem with the handover either. I highly recommend it to anyone who can appreciate the opportunities described above in a place to stay.

Private Family Villa with Hot Tub & Swimming pool

EmeseRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The villa is beautiful and very well equipped. It is in a nice and peaceful neighborhood, and is perfect for a family reunion and relaxation if you want to be away from the craziness of the city. The house is about 30 minutes away from Budapest by car, and 50 minutes away by public transportation. The house is super clean, functional, comfortable, and offers a stunning view to the surrounding Buda hills. Betty, the owner, and host of the house, is a super nice, welcoming, and friendly lady. She came to greet us at the check-in in person, showed us around, and explained everything we needed to know. We had some special needs at the check-in, and check-out, and she was very understanding, and super flexible both times. We enjoyed the heated pool, the sauna, the hot tub, and the gym every day during our stay. All of them were super clean and very well maintained. We liked everything about the villa. We will definitely come back here whenever we will visit Budapest. Thank you, Betty!

Danube Bend, Zebegény, Pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna

ZhovnirRating, 5 stars14 months ago
In real life it is twice better than on photos. Big, clean, cozy, relax Villa with a lot of private spaces, so even if you have big group all of them can find place for relax from each other if needed. Great sauna, big jacuzzi, big pool. A lot of staff, toys for the baby and infants (even a pool is secured from the baby if needed). You can stay with dogs since all the territory 100% secured and fenced. 1 parking spot on the territory, and about 3 parking space just behind the fence. Totally recommended!

Your guide to Budapest

All About Budapest

Hungary’s capital, Budapest, is a bustling metropolis in central Europe. The Danube River splits the city in two, and Budapest’s many bridges help reconnect it. Each bridge has a story behind its name and serves as a historical symbol of this cosmopolitan capital. Budapest’s cityscape is a mix of architecture, from classic Baroque and Gothic styles to sleek, modern buildings.

The best way to experience Budapest is to take part in local life. Explore public spaces, such as the lush City Park, and wander through the alleyways full of street art and make a detour to a pop-up flea market for a unique souvenir. Throughout your city journey, find one of the many thermal, outdoor baths scattered throughout the downtown area. Budapest also hosts several festivals throughout the year. For more insight into Hungary’s compelling history, you can visit one of Budapest’s national museums.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Budapest

Budapest has four distinct seasons. During the hot summertime, you can lounge by one of the city’s swim-friendly outdoor baths. Winter can be cold and rainy and you might see snow if you visit Budapest from December to March. Holiday markets and an outdoor ice skating rink at City Park will also keep you busy this time of year. When spring arrives, Budapest hosts the annual Cherry Blossom Festival, and you can picnic near the bright purple cherry blossom trees in full bloom through April. Autumn is cool and comfortable, and a busy time for local festivals. One of the city’s well-known events during fall is the international wine festival at Buda Castle. There are a variety of vacation rentals in Budapest from downtown lofts and vacation apartments to luxury rooms and everything in between. Since it’s a pedestrian-friendly city, it’s best to choose accommodations that are in a convenient location.

Top things to do in Budapest

Museum of Fine Arts

Discover some of Europe’s most impressive artwork at Budapest’s Museum of Fine Arts in Heroes’ Square. Liberty Bridge

Liberty Bridge is heavily trafficked during the day and becomes a sightseeing activity at night. Meander along the Danube River banks until you get close to the glowing bridge. You can bring a blanket and sit below Liberty Bridge for a close-up view. If you plan to visit during the summer, Liberty Bridge becomes a pedestrian-only space at night.

Indie cinemas

Visit one of Budapest’s independent cinemas scattered throughout the city. From historic buildings to eclectic and modern spaces, each movie theater has a distinct feel. You can look for a cinema playing cult classics, or find a showing for a lesser known indie film.
