In true Airbnb tradition, Vin discovered her passion for hosting after converting a room in her home into a listing—and the rest was history. From being an investment banker with a spare room three years ago, she now runs her own business, which has over 200 reviews. She delights in being able to meet visitors from all over the world, fondly remembering a guest from Indonesia who had stayed with her during her pregnancy, and who then gifted her with baby clothes at the end of her stay. Now a mom of one, Vin thrives on building a career out of creating stunning Airbnb homes and living up to her Superhost title, while also enjoying the flexibility of getting to spend time with her family.

Although Wendy and Sharon had worked together in the past with Wendy providing cleaning services for Sharon’s homestay business, it wasn’t until 2018 when they decided to join forces to start hosting on Airbnb. Three years later, their collaboration has blossomed into a fast friendship, each bringing out the other’s strengths and constantly being each other’s pillar of support, both in their roles as Airbnb hosts as well as in everyday life. They share a love for meeting new people and ensuring their guests are treated like family. Looking ahead, both Wendy and Sharon hope to be able to spend more time with their guests and show them around Malaysia.

Li Ting’s journey as an Airbnb Experience host was inspired by her Malaccan culture and heritage. Hosting her Experience allows her to pay homage to a prized family inheritance—a traditional Nyonya Kuih recipe handed down to her by her grandparents. Li Ting takes great pride and joy in being able to showcase a traditional Malaysian dish to guests from a multitude of different backgrounds (one guest even returned to her class three times!). Most memorably, her one-year journey as an Airbnb host has also strengthened family ties, with her mother occasionally joining in to help her conduct her classes.

As someone who believes that quality products are those made from natural and organic resources, Pei Chin sees the experiences she hosts as a way for her to share her passion for soap-making and farm-to-plate cooking with her guests, in the hopes of playing a part in improving their quality of life. Through Airbnb, she has enjoyed exchanging life philosophies and values with her guests from around the world.
