3 rue de la poste, Vignevielle is our holiday home in France. It is a beautiful old building that we have made into a small, simple home for the holidays.

The village itself is quite remote, being 30 minutes by car from the nearest grocery shops. Our guests enjoy the tranquility of village life and the beautiful scenery. Please assure yourself before booking that the location suits your needs by checking on the map and asking if you have any questions.

The space
3 rue de la poste is a small house with one main bedroom and an open plan sitting room and kitchen. There is a small second bedroom which can accommodate another person on a fold out sofa bed.
The room arrangement is unusual in that the bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs and the kitchen and sitting room are upstairs. This gives beautiful views out over the village to the mountains from the living space and keeps the bedrooms cooler in the summer.
There is a garden to the back of the house which has some useful (sage, lemon verbena, muscat vine) and some beautiful (oleander, wisteria, solanum) plants. There is also a terrace at the back of the house looking over the garden, with a table and chairs for eating outdoors.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge freezer, gas cooker, sink and stereo (for singing whilst you work). We have an array of the usual cooking stuff, but it is not completely extensive - our cooking tends to be fairly simple when we are here.
The sitting room has a wood burning stove (Jotul) and there is a plug-in oil radiator if needed.
There is no wifi or TV at the house. We come here to escape all that! But if you do need to connect to the world wide web there is a computer in the POMS (like a tiny post-office) in the village which can be used for a small fee on week days. If you go further afield, there are many cafes which offer free wifi.

Guest access
The whole house is accessible to guests, along with the garden.

Neighborhood highlights

Vignevieille is a small, charming and friendly village. It is an excellent base for exploring the area which is rich in history (particular highlights being the Cathar castles and Roman and Medieval cities) as well as the beautiful countryside - we love swimming in local river swimming spots.
We have put lots of information about the area on our blog: search 'ruedelaposteblog'
