Named after an Austrian mountain chalet, The Alpenrose is a classic “Old Tahoe” log cabin located on Lake Tahoe’s famous West Shore.
Substantially remodeled in 2024, the cabin is the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comforts, well located between Tahoe City and Homewood Resort.
An easy walk to Ward Creek or Kilner Park (tennis & playground), or a little further to Sunnyside Lodge on the lake, our cozy alpine getaway is perfect for couples, families, friends & adventure seekers alike.
The space
THE CABIN:
We call it "Mountain Chic". Downstairs is visually striking with 20 inch log walls and a hand made wooden spiral staircase up to the 3 recently re-styled bedrooms and separate home theater. An updated kitchen, heated slate floors, and an old school fireplace delight.
LOCATION:
Less than a mile to the Sunnyside Lodge, with its famous lake views (and Hula Pie!) where you can also rent boats, kayaks, and paddle boards. Kilner Park is a five minute walk and home to both tennis and pickle ball courts, an elaborate playground, and a sand volleyball court. Five minutes the other direction takes you to picturesque Ward Creek. In the winter, we're a 10 minute drive to Homewood Mountain Resort with is a pleasant alternative to the crowds and traffic at Palisades.
BEDROOMS: Also remodeled, upstairs accommodates up to 6 guests with 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, and two twin beds spread across 3 inviting bedrooms.
BATHROOMS: Enjoy the convenience of 2 modern bathrooms, featuring walk-in showers (plus bath in the upper level, and heated floors in the downstairs bath) and updated fixtures.
HOME THEATER: The new 77 inch LG OLED screen is a delight to your eyes and your ears will appreciate 5.1 Sony sound via an excellent M&K speaker system. Behind all of this Apple TV provides access to Apple TV and Music, Spotify as well as Netflix, Max, and Peacock.
OUTDOOR AMENITIES: Relax and unwind on our spacious deck with a private hot tub, or take a stroll around our quiet, tree lined, neighborhood.
LIVING SPACES: The living area boasts open beam ceilings and a cozy fireplace (with candles in), perfect for chilly evenings. A bonus media room living space for snuggling up after a day on the slopes or at the lake for a blockbuster experience.
KITCHEN: Fully equipped with all the essentials, our kitchen is ready for you to whip up your favorite meals. Gather around the dining table that comfortably seats six.
ADDITIONAL PERKS: Complimentary fast Wi-Fi, new washer/dryer, and parking for up to three cars. During the winter our plowing service assures ready access to the cabin (and getting out the door for those powder days!).
Guest access
You will be provided with a code to access the property. Please note that there is also bear security system which easily is switched off and on with the press of a button.
Other things to note
Smoking, vaping & illicit substances are not permitted on the property, and you will be asked to leave if this is brought to our attention, as well as the cost of removing the smell with cleaning.
To avoid surprises, we require a copy of a drivers license of everyone over the age of 18 entering the property.
