The Barn is just outside Drumahoe village in an area known as Gortree. It is a 10 minute drive to the beautiful historic walled City, Derry/ Londonderry. It is surrounded by picturesque countryside, with opportunities for country walks and coming back to a roaring log fire.

The space
The Barn is an all in one studio suitable for four guests. The bed space consists of one double and one set of bunk beds which have two full size single mattresses. The sleeping arrangements are all in one large space. It is decorated for country living with everything guests need for comfort and cosiness. There is a well equipped kitchen with an induction hob, mini oven and a downdraft extractor fan. There is a pretty dining space to enjoy a meal. There is a relaxing sitting area to enjoy a roaring log fire and relax with a book or listen to music or watch tv. Please note the first basket of logs is included then guests can buy supplies in the village, a 2min drive. A selection of books and magazines are provided for guests to enjoy.
The bathroom has a modern walk in thermostatically controlled mains pressure shower.
There is a garden with a stone wall and garden seat which guests have sole access to.
Gortree Rd is beautiful with views of rolling countryside down the Faughan Valley and beyond in the distance to Grianan Fort. It’s ideal for a country stroll. Along the road you will glimpse the River Foyle and beyond that to the hills of Donegal. The road has a variety of hedgerow with gorse, elder, honeysuckle and wild roses.
There is a variety of wildlife, watch the buzzards hover over the field and listen to a variety of bird song.

Guest access
Guests enter the property through their own front door. To the left is their bathroom, to the right is the studio accommodation. In the porch area there is a laundry comprising a washing machine, tumble dryer, and clothes airer. The upstairs is the owner’s workshop which will not be in use during the guests’ stay.
Guests have sole use of a small front garden with lovely stone wall, shrubs and a garden bench.
There is a parking bay for the guests’ use along the rd.
The owners live in the adjacent house and will be there if needed.

Neighborhood highlights

The Barn is on a beautiful road with stunning views yet only 2 miles from the village of Drumahoe. The River Faughan flows through the village and is best viewed at the Three Mile Bridge where there is village pub overlooking the river. Drumahoe has a garage, supermarket and a variety of take aways. There is a bakery and a coffee shop. Nearby there are 2 excellent restaurants The Belfray Country Inn and The Beechill House Hotel.
From Gortree Rd the gorgeous Antrim Coast is a 45 min drive. The Fermanagh Lakelands are an hour and a half by car. County Donegal is fifteen minutes away.
The historic city of Londonderry is a 10minutes car journey and here you can shop, walk the medieval walls and The Peace Bridge. Have coffee in one of our excellent and numerous artisan coffee shops. Derry has a reputation for excellent reasonably priced restaurants. It has theatres and cinema and great music venues and pubs.
