At-home coffee

Start your morning right with the drip coffee maker.
Come and enjoy our unique little guesthouse with amazing wildlife walks and a National Heritage Train Station right on your doorstep! The guesthouse is situated on the grounds of the old Station Master's House at Brading Train Station and its location makes it ideal for bird watching, train spotting, hiking, photography, or simply travelling around the beautiful Isle of Wight with the convenience of stepping out of your own front door and onto a train in less than 50 steps! Free parking on site.

The space
The guesthouse is compact but comfortable! The main room has a stable door to allow lots of light and fresh air, a wardrobe, a table and 2 chairs that can be stored out of the way when not in use, a single sofa bed, a TV, and a food preparation area with a toaster, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and mini fridge with ice compartment. Coffee, loose teas, and sugar are provided. The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet, and the bedroom area has a double bed that can be somewhat separated from the main room by means of a curtain. The courtyard is a lovely space to enjoy a sunny breakfast, and there is a small firepit for you to enjoy in the evenings (wood supplied at a cost on request), the area is secure so if you are bringing a furry friend then you can enjoy the space with them too.

*Please note* The proximity of the train station to the property does mean that you will be able to hear the trains! they are not hurtling past as all trains stop at Brading, but you will hear them arriving and leaving and giving a quick blast of the horn as they leave. The trains run from approximately 7am to 11pm.

Although I have listed the property as not suitable for children, if you do have a little one that you would like to bring along then please contact me and I will talk you through the options as it is possible that an older child could use the single sofa bed in the main room, or a travel cot could be placed either in the main room or next to the bed at a squeeze!

I may also be able to provide food on special request, prepared by myself in my plant based kitchen. For example, a simple vegan breakfast, or sandwiches, flask of tea or coffee, and cake to take with you on a hike or picnic.

If you have forgotten any essentials then I can provide at a cost, locally made vegan friendly shampoo and conditioner bars, soap and toothpaste.

Guest access
There is a small step up to the front door, the accommodation is on a single level with no further steps inside, however, as can be seen from the photographs, the space is compact, and may be difficult to navigate with mobility aids. Please feel free to contact me if you have any specific questions regarding this.
There is designated parking directly outside the property so you will never have a problem parking. You will have your own entrance to the property, and your own secure courtyard garden. Delivery drivers do use the courtyard gate also, but they will not be knocking on your door, only that of the main house.
The train station is a stones throw from your front door, and Brading also has a good bus service with the closest bus stop just 2 minutes walk away.

Other things to note
Any questions you may have please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to accommodate you! I look forward to welcoming you to this beautiful part of the world!
**some of the walks around here can be very muddy! The marshes are stunning...but they are marshes after all, so boots are a good idea**

Neighborhood highlights

Brading is a quiet town with many beautiful scenic walks to enjoy, with easy access to extensive RSBP nature reserves, marshes and downs all with stunning views and wildlife (great for walking dogs too). On Brading High Street just a minutes walk from the property you will find 2 bars and 1 restaurant, a barbers, a convenience store, a fish and chip shop and also the quaint Lilliput antique doll and toy museum and beautiful medieval church dating from the 12th century. A little further afield, but still within walking distance or a short drive there is the Brading Roman Villa and the lovely gastro pub the Yarbridge Inn (The Yarbridge Inn is a 5 minute walk along a footpath that runs adjacent to the train line).
On Wednesday and Saturday mornings there is a zero waste market at the church at the top of the town a 10 minute walk from the property.

*Summer months only* The fabulous Adgestone Vineyard is also within walking distance! (Roughly 20 minutes with some road walking). The vineyard offers a fantastic opportunity to purchase locally produced wines, as well as chutneys etc...but also to enjoy a relaxing day, they offer tours and tasting sessions, and have live afternoon music sessions at weekends, with relaxed outdoor seating that allows you to take in the sun and stunning scenery, while enjoying an optional glass or bottle of wine and some light food (vegan options available). There are often chickens and goats roaming free, which children love, dogs must of course be kept on leads but are also very welcome! Lager, spirits, and soft drinks are also available.

**The islands' eateries tend to get booked up in the summer months, so it is best to book in advance to secure a place, there are some places that don't have a booking system and accept walk ins**
