Spar Point Farm on Block Island is a 6-acre working family farm including a vineyard, orchard, apiary, gardens, greenhouse, and authentic wood-fired "Cob" clay oven. It offers a winning combination of being well off the main road for privacy and quiet, but less than 10 minutes by car from the main port town and 5 minutes from the airport. The farm is flanked by 230 acres of conservation land to the west and enjoys sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean, striking sunsets, and wondrous stargazing.
The space
The Ocean-View Cottage is situated adjacent to a unique trellised vineyard. It is charming and cozy, styled as an early-American post-and-beam structure with wide plank floors and an inviting open floor plan.
The downstairs features a living/dining area and a bright open kitchen. A pergola-covered patio for grilling and outdoor dining offers a wide ocean view across open pastures. There are three bedrooms with fans: the downstairs bedroom with access to the patio contains a queen bed, a first upstairs bedroom contains a queen bed and a matching twin bed, and a second upstairs bedroom contains an antique full bed. There is a full bath downstairs with a walk-in shower and a half-bath upstairs. There is also an outdoor shower.

Owners live on the property full-time year-round. From time to time, guests may see the owners at work on the farm including, but not limited to, beekeeping, planting, watering, mowing, weeding, pruning, spraying and harvesting, as well as general maintenance and grounds-keeping. The owners make every effort to keep noise and intrusions to a minimum.
Guest access
There is an abundance of natural and architectural beauty on Block Island and Spar Point Farm to provide lots of peaceful rejuvenation and quality time with loved ones.
***BUT PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
-There are NO PETS permitted (hypoallergenic or otherwise!) in the rental cottages.
-There are NO BED LINENS OR TOWELS PROVIDED (Tenants will need to bring these with them) Only pillows, mattress/pillow protectors, bedspreads are provided.
-There are NO MOPEDS allowed on the property or on the access road to the property (by town ordinance).
-There is NO DIRECT BEACH ACCESS from the property (but we're close to the ocean, and a short walk or bike ride along the public roadways will get you to stunning beaches :)
-There are NO OPEN FIRES permitted on the property; a propane grill is provided.
-There are NO DRONES permitted on the property.
-There are NO TENTS permitted on the property.
-There is limited parking for a MAXIMUM OF TWO CARS for the rental space
-There is NO SMOKING permitted inside any building on the property.
-Climbing on or over rock walls on or around the property and trespassing on neighboring properties is strictly prohibited.
The rental space includes the specific premises and the mowed area immediately surrounding it. Tenants are not granted access to any other parts of the farm property, such as the greenhouse, the barn and surrounding pens/enclosures, the vineyard, the gardens, the orchard, the bee yard, pastures, un-mowed areas, and mowed areas surrounding other cottages, without the owner’s explicit permission.
Other things to note
From late June to Labor Day weekend, there is a 3 night minimum stay, with check-in days on Fridays and Tuesdays. From May 1st to late June and Labor Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend there is a 3 night minimum stay.
