Running Water Creek is a unique 120 acre off-grid camping and glamping destination just 20 minutes from downtown Chattanooga. The property runs exclusively on solar power and features a solar powered well system. The property is also a registered apiary and bee sanctuary! This cozy A-frame cabin overlooks the creek and has a wall that opens up to the deck to enjoy nature and the sounds of the creek. The property features a seasonal creek, multiple hiking trails, and a shared bathhouse.
The space
This tiny A-frame cabin features a wall that opens up to the deck that is the same size as the cabin! There is a queen size memory foam mattress with bedding, basic cooking supplies, and an outlet for charging electronics. Fans are available in the summer and portable heaters are available in the winter. One 1 pound propane tank is provided for the heater and stove. The A-frame is not insulated and if you would like to run the heater all night you will need to bring more propane and/or more blankets. We provide sheets, pillows, and blankets, but we do not provide towels. Guests must bring their own towels! The tiny A-frame does not have a private bathroom, but guests do have access to the bath house on the property. The bath house features showers (with hot water!), toilets, and sinks, but the water is not potable. The bath house also has a large kitchen sink for washing dishes. The property is completely off grid so please be mindful of how much power and water you are using.
Because the property is completely off grid, lights are limited on the property. There are no lights on the road or around the property, except at the buildings so the property is very dark at night. Star gazing is great because of the limited light pollution! The roads on the property are gravel, but even small cars can reach this A-frame if you drive slow.
This property is gated and access is restricted to this property and not the entire mountain. There are game cameras at the entrances and various public places throughout the property. This is nature....so there are various wild animals on the property (snakes, foxes, bobcats, bugs, etc.) so please be aware at all times. There are also train tracks nearby where trains go by at various times during the day and night.

Other things to note
Towels are not provided!
Electricity in the A-frame is limited due to the property being completely solar powered. Guests are free to charge basic electronics (cell phones, laptops, cameras, etc). If guests plug in anything to the outlet (space heater, hair dryer, air conditioner, electric car, etc.) that drains the batteries, the guest will be charged a $500 fee for battery depreciation and for any inconvenience incurred by current or future guests for not having electricity during their stay.
The bathhouse water is not potable so guests need to bring their own drinking/cooking water.
There is no WIFI on the property, but there is excellent cell phone coverage (most carriers have 4G or 5G).
Unapproved late check-outs will incur a fee of $50 per 15-minute increment past the check-out time. This late checkout fee does not constitute possession of the A-frame for the day or access to the property but is a fee for rushed cleaning or any inconvenience to the next guest. Any possessions left in the A-frame more than 1 hour after the designated check-out time will be removed from the property.
Smoking is not allowed in the A-frame. A fee of $200/day will be charged if anyone smokes in the A-frame.
Pets are not allowed in the A-frame. A fee of $200/day will be charged for each pet if they are brought into the A-frame. That includes the neighbor's dogs.
