The space
Two words: Classy and High-End!

This unit is perfect for discerning travelers and those who recognize and appreciate luxury and quality. From the entry way, coffee and end tables, to the master bedroom headboard and bench, the unit’s curtains, lighting (various shades for various moods) - everything in the unit - is of the utmost quality. It shows! The linen, pillows, mattresses and all of the small touches, again, of the highest quality. Someone took their time with this unit.

Most items are sustainably sourced. Handmade. Solid. Just pure class. As are the hosts. Ivan and Jose are perfect gentlemen. Thorough, thoughtful, kind and trustworthy. I booked months in advance to work remotely in Playa Del Carmen.

The hosts told me they would provide a desk for me and, sure enough, when I arrived months after the initial booking, the hosts had a desk delivered so that I could work comfortably. The hosts also installed three WiFi access points so that WiFi is available and strong, regardless of what part of the home you are enjoying.

They really thought about every aspect of a traveler’s stay, and went above and beyond to deliver excellence. This home is considerably large - much larger than the photos depict and a lot larger than other two bedrooms in Playa. The two bedrooms are separated by a long hallway so there is no disturbance between the two. There is so much natural light in the unit and the view of the jungle outside is pure bliss.

There is an abundance of cabinet, closet and drawer space. And I thoroughly enjoyed living in all parts of the home. The building itself, Playa Aurora, is a gem. It’s new. Modern. With the perfect amount of guests at any given time. In fact, I sometimes had the rooftop pool all to myself! This rooftop pool, by the way, is honestly one of the most beautiful rooftop pools with the most VAST views of the city and jungle that I have seen in all of Playa.

The pictures here do it no justice! There is a relaxing walkway lined by the jungle on one side and flowers and trees on the other with wooden benches every few feet. The walkway is lined with beautiful blue uplights are night. This green space, just outside, offers excellent areas to read, relax or meditate if not doing so from the rooftop.

The security guards (especially Sam and Nero) go out of their way to help you. Plaza Las America’s, a wonderful mall, is a 5 minute walk and La Quinta/5th Ave is a 20 minute walk or 4-minute taxi ride at the cost of about $40 pesos (or $2 usd). Taxis are abundant. There are several restaurants at the mall and an amazing taco stand (with Ra) just outside of the building on the adjoining street. Ra makes incredible, fresh to-order ceviche and provides a complimentary delicious welcome soup while you wait.
I could go on and on about how wonderful the building, unit and hosts are. There are so many positives and not nearly enough words to convey my thoughts.

So, instead, I will express how I’ve FELT in this home: grateful, at peace, safe, comforted, and incredibly blessed to have found the unit and the hosts. If you appreciate and place value on luxury, quality and comfort, I would recommend that you consider a stay here. I don’t think you would regret it, as I certainly have not.
