Nestled in the Minnesota Northwoods halfway between Minneapolis / St. Paul and the scenic North Shore of Lake Superior, this inviting Micro House is part of a quiet nature retreat close to charming small towns, as well as Banning State Park, Willard Munger state bicycle trail, and Robinson Park (rock & ice climbing). Whether for deep relaxation, rejuvenation, a romantic getaway, or simply connecting with nature, these 30 acres provide woods, ephemeral ponds, and meadows with trails throughout.
The space
The private Meadow Micro House at Silvae Spiritus provides easygoing luxury in a postage-stamp-sized atmosphere. This unique, partially off-grid studio is tucked between the orchard trees in the near meadow, and allows a fully immersive nature experience with large windows that look out upon the forest, the near meadow, an ephemeral pond, and sweeping sky views for stargazing or catching the aurora borealis. Featuring *no* WiFi, *no* TV, *no* phone, and a city-block's walk from your vehicle to reach the Meadow Micro House (wagon or sled to haul your gear provided seasonally) this is a cozy refuge to truly escape the distractions of your busy life!
Special features include electricity, heat and air conditioning, room-darkening shades, a mini-kitchenette outfitted for a several-day stay with mini-fridge/freezer combo, coffee maker, tea kettle, microwave, toaster oven, induction cookplate, cookware, dishware, silverware, and a long countertop with comfortable bar stools perfect for meals, conversation, or focused work or study; and a 3/4 bathroom with composting toilet. Additionally, we provide a JBL bluetooth speaker and nature-inspired books. In the warm months, the Meadow Micro House has hot and cold running water for sinks and the shower. In the cold months, several gallons of filtered water are provided in the kitchenette and bathroom for cooking and washing.
Outside, The Meadow Micro House has comfortable seating for two and a combination fire pit / grill reserved for your exclusive use. While single night stays are welcome, we recommend at least two nights to fully experience all this land and the Meadow Micro House have to offer.
The Meadow Micro House is the smallest offering of three AirBnBs on-site: our largest offering is The Gather Guesthouse at Silvae Spiritus, which sleeps up to five people in a spacious 2,500 square feet; our mid-size offering is The Treetop Tiny House, which sleeps up to four guests in two queen beds. These two other spaces are fully outfitted for year-round comfort, including WiFi, TVs with free streaming services, full kitchens, dedicated living rooms, and hot and cold running water.

REIKI ENERGY HEALING

Your on-site host, Leigha, is a certified Reiki Master Teacher, and draws on a history of deep listening, empathy, intuition, and nature connection to serve as a conduit between how your body, mind, and spirit feel in the present moment and how they feel when you are in a state of harmony and balance. Because whole-person wellness is multi-faceted – an integrated, multi-faceted approach to that wellness is best served by interweaving the energies of touch, music, meditation, plants, trees, and stones into Reiki sessions whenever possible and welcomed. This private, one-on-one, 45- or 90-minute experience is available to our AirBnB guests and day-trip visitors via reservation only, for the additional fee listed above. AN IMPORTANT NOTE FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN UNDER 12:
As much as we adore children, the guesthouse has a formal "No Children Under 12" policy (this can be found under the "Safety & Property" section at the bottom of this listing). This is strictly enforced due to several features of the guesthouse and land, which make it unsuitable for young visitors. Infants are only permitted if they are "babes in arms" (not yet crawling, scooting, or walking - regardless of supported or unsupported) and infant's mobility will not progress before your scheduled stay.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE FOR GUESTS WITH DOGS:
*Any dogs (up to two) must be included on the AirBnB reservation, in advance of arrival.
*Dogs cannot be left unattended at any time.
*Pets must be fully housebroken and well-behaved, and you must pick up after your dog outdoors.
*Outdoors, dogs must be on-leash, within guest's full control at all times, and not aggressive toward us, our dog, cats, or other visitors.
*Nuisance / Excessive barking is not a good fit for the peace of Silvae Spiritus.
Guest access
THE LAND
Guests have full access to the 30 acres of trails, woods, and meadows, exclusive use of the combination fire pit/grill near their lodging, and shared access to other fire pits on the land. Additionally, all guests have access to the shared picnic garden with two picnic tables and two hammocks
THE SAUNA + COLD PLUNGE + WOOD-FIRED HOT TUB
The luxury wood-fired sauna and dual cold plunge tubs are ONLY available as special, add-on Sessions, for an additional fee, by reservation only. The outdoor wood-fired hot tub is ONLY available as an add-on to a booked sauna session, and ONLY available from April through November. The wood-fired hot tub is not available as a stand-alone booking.
