At-home coffee

Start your morning right with the drip coffee maker.
About ten miles from the headwaters of the Rio Grande on Stony Pass-- Lost Trail Station was an 1877 stage stop . The guest cabin is a more modern vintage from 1930s, but remodeled in 2018. Guests have access to the 100-acre property, 1/2 mile stretch of private fishing on the Rio Grande and use of the gazebo there. The San Juan National Forest is out the front gate. Forest Service Road 520 is a prime ATV ride--bring your machines and play. Weminuche Wilderness is across the river.

The space
Off the grid! No full-time electricity, no telephone or internet. Cabin has hot and cold running water, propane refrigerator and stove. Wood-stove for heat. Incredible views from the large front deck for morning coffee, lunch, and evening cocktails.
Neighbors have a dude ranch business and take day horse rides and guide hunting. Otherwise, the neighbors are the wild animals in the forest.
The property is private and quiet, surrounded by National Forest and Wilderness - see photo section.
The remote location is equidistant between Creede, Lake City and Silverton. See maps in photo section.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to explore the ranch, watching out for dogs and mules. Front yard has fire-pit, as does the Gazebo by the river for evening cook-outs. Well-behaved dogs that won't eat the resident dachshunds are also welcome, and the cabin has a fenced yard. Plenty of space for RVs, too.

The property is an historic stage stop, accommodating travelers since 1877, and we are proud to continue that tradition.
