Originally built in 1940 as a double camping lodge with a shared bath between them, The Loft is one of those, with a home addition added on in the 1960's. When I remodeled the home I created the modern version of a one room camping lodge with a bathroom and loft sleeping area. The home is full of character and some quarks but rest assured it is absolutely comfortable, cozy and efficiently set up for your stay.

The space
300 square feet of Tiny house, loft life. Connected to the main house but completely private! Cozy and comfortable with a great outdoor space. Far from ordinary, close to everything West Michigan.
Being completely transparent, you will hear some traffic but you cannot see it, and I've had no complaints

-TO MY WINTER GUESTS-
Snow removal and clearing is not always possible up here. The path to The Loft is a walkway through my yard, not a sidewalk. The driveway is sloped and not easily cleared (I drive a car that maneuvers well)
I will make attempts, but it is not a promise to keep maintained and passable.
Shovels are available, and while I am at work Snow removal may not happen for many hours if not overnight at times. I appreciate you're choosing The Loft and want to be very transparent about winter conditions.
Thank you

Welcome to my cozy loft. This space is a privatized area of my home offered to you as a place to relax and unwind. Close to many beaches, hiking and natural areas exclusive to West Michigan. Completely private with no shared spaces, limited laundry available upon request for stays over 3 days. Private yard, fire pit, Entry and Bath with a full kitchenette and Cedar closet.

Other things to note
Please follow "The Loft at ElmRidge" on FB for all updates!
Being close to everything also means you are near a main thoroughfare, US 31. As are all other Hotels, Motels and Campgrounds in the area. Being completely transparent, ***you will hear some traffic but you cannot see it..... and I've had no complaints
***You will see traffic if you rent between November & April***
***MY FAVORITE DAY LONG EXCURSION***
LUDINGTON
Leaving here by 9:30 am. Look up Peter Pan Land on G**GLE MAPS and head North. There is only parking for a few cars, and it is unmarked. Close to the corner of Lakeshore drive and Bradshaw Rd. Follow the trail, split right and follow towards the lake... amazing views! Head in to Ludingtons downtown and shop a while, lots of great shops but don't take too much time there's lots more to do! Head to Ludington State Park for amazing hiking and the biggest and most beautiful beach and pavilion! Hike to the Big Sable Point Lighthouse from the pines campground ( about 2 hours round trip) and well worth it! For dinner go back down to STIX and enjoy soo many things! the ambience is amazing, bowl some and sit by a warm fire........
Time to head back to The Loft, It's been a beautiful day. Leave by 9pm and you'll be back here by 10:30.

Neighborhood highlights

Living up here on Ridge has been amazing! There is only one neighbor across the street and you are surrounded by century old oak trees and wildlife all over. Being close to multiple Lake Michigan beaches and Spring Lake is literally just a few blocks away, these are just a few of the bonuses. Hoffmaster State park (closed 2023) is a short drive and shopping in Saugatuck is about 45 minutes down the lakeshore.

Welcome to The Loft! Nestled between Spring Lake, Grand Haven and Lake Michigan. Nature is everywhere, whether you're looking for Hiking, Beaching, Mountain Biking or just relaxing the day away at The Loft. You are literally 5 minutes or less away from any of the above and dozens more locations further away if you choose to travel a bit. The Loft is a privatized area of my home which used to be a part of a two unit camping lodge in the 1940's. It is set up as a tiny home completely private from any space that I utilize.... it's all YOURS to enjoy! The Loft sleeping area is up 7 steps and incredibly cozy, possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever been on. The main Cabin has a full Kitchenette, seating for 4 and a Cedar closet for your clothing. There is a small but very smart television to stream your favorite shows or check out local news and network offerings. The bathroom is full size and all linens are provided for your stay. Just outside you'll find a firepit, swing for two, table and chairs a charcoal weber grill and two small love seats to completely take in the outdoors. You will need to pick up some firewood or charcoal to have a fire or grill out. Beyond The Loft is a world of exploring, hiking, shopping, dining and some amazing hotspots after dark. Be sure to check out Odd Side Ales, Tip-a-Few and Armory Brewing to get started! I'm always close by, but not in your space. My Bulldog Butler will say hi and soon after he'll go back to his mundane world (he's enclosed and I should be there if you choose to interact) I'm gratefully sober for over 8 years now but absolutely want you to have the best of times... there are no restrictions of what you choose to entertain yourself with, smoking included ( just keep that outside please) If you end up enjoying too much while out at the bars, don't hesitate to message me and Ill come pick you up! This is your time and it's gonna be great!
