Our home offers tastefully appointed, timber-rich accommodation, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere with a seamless indoor-outdoor flow, and air conditioning (heating/cooling) throughout.

Please keep in mind that while we make every effort to ensure that they are kept to an absolute minimum within the building, we do share the countryside with an array of bugs. While none of them pose a danger to (most) humans, some are rarely seen in the city and therefore may surprise unsuspecting guests.

As such, we always have bug spray on hand, and ‘muhi’ should you need it.

Where I went to school: University of Nottingham, UK
I'm originally from Cambridgeshire, England. I came to Japan in 1989, fell in love with it and have been here ever since. I married a Tokyo girl in 1996, and we had two daughters. Both are grown up now. I bought the kominka in 2017 and restored both structures (almost) singlehandedly. We believe it was originally built in the late Meiji/early Taisho era. The Isumi Terrace outbuilding is now finished, but I will continue to improve the grounds.
