Beautiful area

This home is in a scenic location.
Rustic Lakefront log cabin located on the shores of Northwest Pond/ Seboies Lake in northern Maine. Take day hikes into the famed 100-Mile Wilderness/Baxter State Park or just relax on the water! Open year round. Enjoy life the way it was!

The space
Rustic log cabin rental on the shores of Northwest Pond/ Seboies Lake in T4R9 Maine (it's an unorganized township in the Katahdin Region of Maine). We are a set of historic sporting camps on the shore of a 2000+ acre pond where you can take a paddle around in one of our complementary canoes, swim, fish and more. Also handy to hiking in the famed "100 mile Wilderness" which is part of the Appalachian Trail. Book a whitewater rafting trip on the West Branch of the Penobscot River or hike the highest mountain in Maine- Katahdin. We have a total of three cabin rentals situated around a main lodge. Each cabin room has a twin and a full size bed in our two bedroom cabins. Bed linens are supplied as well as kitchen towels and cloths. (bring you own beach towel). Kitchen ware is supplied and they have gas ranges and gas refrigerators. We provide potable water for drinking and dishes and there are outhouse facilities (no showers- take a jump in the lake!). There is no electricity (gas lights and lanterns) so be ready to get UN-plugged, interact with your company, listen to the loons and watch the night sky!

The space: Log cabin with simple floor plan. Two partitioned bedrooms and a general living/kitchen space. Each bedroom has a single and double bed. Kitchen has sink and gas stove/oven and a small gas fridge is located on the porch. Screened in front porch over looking the water. Stone fire pits with campfire wood included. Private (composting) outhouse facilities.

Guest access
Cabin is part of a set of old sporting camps from the late 1800's. We are located on Northwest Pond which is part of Seboies Lake. Guest have private cabin/private outhouse. Use of our canoes and two kayaks while at camp (we have adult sized life-jackets but you would need to supply children's sized if necessary.) We are the only cabins on Northwest Pond which is part of Maine Public Reserve Lands - (Seboies Unit).

Other things to note
you are going into the wilderness. Cell phone reception is marginal at best. The road into camp is a dirt logging road it is passable in a two wheel drive vehicle but small cars with low clearance will need to take there time navigating rocks. It takes about 35 minutes to reach the nearest town so it's a good idea to stock up before you head in (i.e groceries).
again just to review: no electricity or running water and there are outhouse facilities.

Hi there! My name is Katie and I live in northern Maine with my husband Gene & our big dog Andy Bear. I love the outdoors and Gene is a musician. Together we own Cole's Moosehorn Cabins, a set of historic sporting camps in the woods of T4R9 (an unorganized territory in Maine) on Seboies Lake. We're so happy to share this special place!
