Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Green Door Kiama is a new architect designed, environmentally sustainable holiday escape. It has been created for 1 or 2 couples to enjoy calm luxury and relaxation in a magnificent oceanside location. We are dog friendly & offer EVC.

A very short walk to the town and beaches, Green Door is positioned on top of a hill with impressive ocean views. From here guests can enjoy the many attractions Kiama is famous for; less than 2 hours drive from Sydney in this picturesque NSW South Coast paradise.

The space
Green Door Kiama has been carefully designed and purpose built as luxury holiday accommodation adjoining a new prestigious principal residence, for travelers to relax and escape the daily grind.

Located on the ground level of the main residence, this stylish self-contained 2-bedroom eco-friendly getaway has its own private entrance (a Green Door, of course!) and offers complete separation and privacy from the main residence. It accommodates up to four guests.

A striking blend of Mid Century Modern and Australian Coastal design, the home was completed in late-2023 by an award-winning local builder. The impressive all-white exterior of the house, together with its sweeping raked roofline, large windows, designer breeze blocks and colourful Palm Springs style entrance doors, make it one of the most valuable and prominent homes in the region.

Internally, the space feels luxurious and soothing with an elegant simplicity, using soft organic hues, so guests can just check in, unwind and relax, surrounded by premium furnishings and inclusions. It is on a single level with no stairs. The main bathroom is at the front with a second spacious powder room located at the rear.

The bedrooms exude comfort, warmth and style, offering premium solid timber Australian made Queen beds with ample wardrobe space, high ceilings, air conditioning and ceiling fans.

The living area is open plan and includes kitchen, dining and lounge – including a gorgeous electric fireplace and a comfy fold out sofa bed, should one of the four guests prefer to sleep separately (please request when booking).

There is a compact but well-equipped kitchen. The coffee machine is Nespresso Vertuo with 40ml and 150ml pods supplied.

We have focused heavily on environmentally sustainable inclusions in all aspects of the build. This includes:

- 15kW rooftop solar PV system
- 10kw battery
- Solar hot water system
- 3,000L water tanks
- EV Charger with free charging for guests - up to 7.4kw (32A) charging power; standard Type2 connector: fits most cars
- Energy-efficient appliances

even the used coffee pods are recycled via Nespresso recycling Program.

Green Door Kiama has been fitted out with meticulous attention to detail - from champagne stopper to bathrobes and slippers, everything has been thoughtfully prepared so you can just relax and enjoy the space.

Stay in and chill out, or walk into town to explore Kiama’s cafes, restaurants, sightseeing and shopping and its regular markets and festivals. If you're feeling fit, take on some or all of the spectacular 22km Kiama Coast Walk, or tackle some of the many nature-based activities the area has to offer.

Whatever your choice, Green Door Kiama is a peaceful, luxurious eco-friendly haven, not only during summer, but also in the cooler months curled up in front of the glowing fireplace.

Your hosts,

Neighborhood highlights

For us, Kiama "must-do" experiences include a walk along Black Beach foreshore to the harbour (see if you can spot the giant stingrays that hang around the pier), then up to Kiama Point to check out the Lighthouse and swimming rockpool and of course to the famous Kiama blowhole. The Visitors Centre is also near there and worth a visit for more ideas.
There is also a less known blow hole, "Little Blowhole" in Tingira Crescent. And another swimming rockpool on the other point near Black Beach.

On a clear day, a drive up to Saddleback Mountain lookout offers sweeping views over Kiama to Wollongong to the north and Jervis Bay to the south.
Kiama has 5 beaches...... from north to south:
Bombo Beach (only 400m from the accommodation but is better for surfing and walking along rather than swimming as it gets very wild!),
Black Beach is a rocky beach in the centre of town not suited to swimming but very nice to sit in the surrounding parks,
Surf Beach on Manning St, is popular with swimmers and surfers,
Kendalls Beach on Bonaira Ave also popular with swimmers, and our favourite
Easts Beach, which tends to be a lot calmer due to its position but is a little more difficult to get to as you need to park in the street and walk a bit to get to it.

Kiama Coast Walk is an absolute must for our fit & active guests. Our fave is the Loves Bay to Gerringong leg, about 6km one-way.
Beyond Kiama, the nearby towns of Jamberoo, Gerringong, Gerroa and Berry are all only a short drive away.

Kiama has many fabulous markets on weekends and a farmers market every Wednesday afternoon. We are spoilt for choice for good coffee and cafes. The "in place" in Kiama is The Hungry Monkey located a short walk from Green Door in the row of terrace shops in Collins St. Great place for coffee, breakfast, burgers at lunch and it is also open for dinner from Weds-Sun. We also love Diggies Cafe on Kiama Point, Little Earth Café in Tingira Cres (near the Little Blowhole) for great coffee and light meals, Parfait Patisserie on Manning St for their coffee and baked goods and Short Black cafe in Terralong St for more great coffee & food. The Brooding Italian is good if you like your coffee STRONG, in Manning st, Kendalls Beach end. Great brekky & lunch too.

In terms of restaurants, our favourite is Silica on Manning street, this is more of a special occasion experience. Hanoi on Manning for good Vietnamese food and Scoops Icecreamery for authentic Vietnamese street food. The Olive and Vine (mod Oz/International) and Zia's Pizza (Italian) are both good choices for family groups with hearty homestyle cooking.

And there is lots of good shopping to explore along the main street Terralong St, Manning St and also Collins St. If you need a major shopping Mall, 80,000m2 Stocklands is located 15 minutes away at Shellharbour, plenty of parking and all the usual chain stores are there.
