🌴 Opening February 2026! Sleep among the macaws in your Swiss Family Robinson–style jungle treehouse at Macaw Bungalows. Nestled in lush greenery right on the beach, this eco-retreat blends rustic adventure with comfort. These photos offer a preview of the space; our full professional photo set will be added in January once final styling is complete. “Great Green Wing" features its own lush green palette and copper-accented tropical design.

The space
Tucked beneath the jungle canopy and just behind the beach on Isla Carenero, Macaw Bungalows Panama feels like stepping into a living daydream — a handcrafted hideaway where wood, water, and wildlife meet.

An elevated boardwalk winds through mangrove roots and palms, with suspension bridges leading to three Swiss Family Robinson–style treehouses, each with its own distinct design, color palette, and story. You’ll wake to the calls of parrots and macaws and unwind on your private balcony as the rainforest hums around you.

Our upcoming beachfront bungalows, arriving mid-2026, will bring a different island spirit — inspired by Barbadian and West Indies coastal charm, with whitewashed finishes, airy interiors, and a relaxed barefoot elegance.

Every structure at Macaw Bungalows is crafted from local hardwoods and finished with copper, brass, and pewter nautical accents, along with artistic details that blend tropical craftsmanship with just the right touch of refined comfort. It’s rustic where it should be, refined where it counts, and surrounded by nature at every turn.

Guest access
Getting here is half the adventure. You’ll arrive Survivor-style by boat — a quick, scenic ride across turquoise water from Bocas Town to Isla Carenero, where you’ll step ashore at our jungle / beach landing. From there, a raised boardwalk winds through the roots and trees, leading you into the heart of Macaw Bungalows Panama.

Guests have full access to their private treehouse or bungalow, plus relaxed spaces at the Chillin’ Macaw Café and large communal deck — perfect for morning coffee, afternoon smoothies, or simply soaking in the sounds and being one with the jungle and sea.

Only minutes by boat from town, yet it feels like another world. 🌴🦜

Neighborhood
Macaw Bungalows is located on Isla Carenero, a peaceful island just across the water from Bocas Town. It’s a quiet, walkable island with beach paths, tropical scenery, and small cafés along the shoreline.

Getting Around
Guests reach us by a 3-4minute water taxi from Bocas Town. Water taxis run all day and night, and the island is easy to explore on foot along the beach path. Carenero has no cars, so parking is not required.
