Situated on over 2 acres in Ontario’s beautiful cottage country, our luxury geodesic dome is the perfect escape from the busyness of everyday life.
Experience camping without sacrificing comfort as each dome is equipped with 2 queen beds, kitchenette with appliances, full size bathroom and linens. We have 4 domes on site each with their own space. Enjoy your morning coffee overlooking the swim-friendly water of Deer Lake before exploring all it has to offer by kayak (rent upon availability)
Other things to note
Dome Rules:
Shoes: No shoes within the dome. The area surrounding the dome is sandy - in order to keep the floors clean please place your outdoor shoes on the coat/shoe rack.
Smoking: No smoking inside the dome. Extra cleaning fees to remove odor and stains may be applied.
BBQ: BBQ can be used leisurely by guests. Propane tank and bbq utensils are provided. BBQ utensils can be found in the bottom shelf of the utility cart inside the dome. Please cleanup after yourselves and keep the grill clean. If found left dirty and requires extra cleaning, an extra cleaning fee will be applied.
Fire Pit: Fire wood is not provided. Do not leave fires unattended; please extinguish fire before turning in for the night.
Furniture: Furniture such as a lounge chair, bed, night tables, dining table, outdoor patio set, and muskoka chairs are provided for guest use. Please leave furniture in the position that it was found before checking out.
AC/HVAC: Our domes are equipped with AC/HVAC units to keep guests comfortable in Ontario’s hot Summers and harsh Winters. Please ensure the unit is turned off before checking out. PLEASE NOTE THE MINI-SPLIT ON THE WALL IS NOT ACTIVE DURING THE WINTER. The heater on the hall tree is what is used during the Winter months - please turn the knob to reach desired temperature. ***IN THE SUMMER MONTHS: Please leave the AC ON at 72F at check-out***
Linens: 2 towels, 2 hand towels, 1 bath mat, 1 throw blanket, 4 pillows, 1 duvet comforter, and 2 bedsheets. Please note the top bed does not include a comforter. Please throw all the linens into the laundry hamper before checking out.
Kitchen Utensils and Appliances: 1 frying pan, 1 pot, spatula, tongs, steak knife, 4 forks, 4 knives, 4 spoons, can opener, grater, wine opener, 4 wine glasses, 4 drinking glasses, 4 small coffee mugs, 4 big plates, 4 small plates, 4 bowls, cutting board, small drying rack, drying mat, microwave, single burner, kettle, toaster and mini fridge. Please ensure all dishes are washed after use and appliances are turned off before checking out. If dishes are not washed extra cleaning fees may be applied.
Noise: Although we would like for you to be as loud as you’d like, we have to be mindful of our neighbours. Please note that each dome is is 40ft apart so it may be possible for you to hear the neighbouring guests. The domes are not 100% soundproof so you may hear what is happening outside the domes. Taking this into consideration, please keep noise to a minimum after 10PM. We cannot guarantee a noise-free experience during your stay.
Guest Information:
Parking: Parking is provided in the paved area next to the ‘Cosco’ container. Please use the pathway next to the parking area to walk down to the domes. Please note this pathway is approximately 100ft in length and declines gradually.
Breaker box: Use one electronic kitchen appliance at a time to avoid tripping the breaker. In case of a breaker trip please reset the breaker located in the far kitchen cabinet.
First Aid Kit: Stored in the far right kitchen cabinet. In case of emergencies please call 911.
Fire Extinguisher: Stored in the far right kitchen cabinet. In case of emergencies please call 911 or South River Machar Fire Department. Cooking is the number one cause of residential fires in Ontario. Please do not leave your cooking unattended and avoid having loose clothing and articles near the burner. NEVER attempt to extinguish a grease fire with water.
Shower: Guests are able to enjoy hot showers, however, it is important to note the hot water runs for an average of 8 minutes. If the hot water runs out, guests will need to wait 30 mins to an hour for the next guest to be able to enjoy a hot shower. Please bring your own hair care products and bodywash as they are not provided.
Water: Our water is tested regularly and is safe for consumption, however it is not chlorinated. Please bring your own drinking water if you feel more comfortable, or the tap water can be boiled in the kettle provided.
WiFi: We use satellite internet so the signal can be intermittent and at times may not be the strongest. We advise downloading media beforehand to be prepared.
Kayak Rental: single-seater kayak with life jacket and paddle board available for the entire duration of your stay. 4 kayaks - first come first serve. $25 each. Advance notice required - check with host if rental is possible. ADULT SIZE LIFE JACKETS ONLY. KIDS SIZE LIFE JACKETS ARE NOT PROVIDED.
Paddle Board Rental: 10 ft inflatable paddle board available for the entire duration of your stay. 3 paddle boards - first come first serve. $20 each. Advance notice required - check with host if rental is possible.
Wild animals: This area is home to a lot of Ontario wildlife including deer, caribou, moose, black bears, coyotes, and gray wolves. Although sightings are rare, please keep this in mind and use your best judgment if seen. DO NOT approach.
