One out of six beautifully designed rooms in our charming Bed&Breakfast 'Dar Bul Bul'. With garden, pool and big rooftop overlooking lake Qaroun. We offer breakfast and can help you organizing any activity you are interested in (for example a trip to the nearby desert). We can also organize a private driver from Cairo for you, if you don't have your own car.

The space
Our small hotel/bed&breakfast consists of six rooms, each with private bathroom. Five of these rooms have a private balcony/terrace. The rooms in the first floor do additionally have a shared corridor that could be used as a sitting area, overlooking the fields and facing the sunrise. There is a big rooftop overlooking lake Qaroun. The rooms are facing the garden and pool. There is a parking area on the property.

Room#1 is located in the ground floor and has direct access to the garden via a private terrace. It has two single beds (each 1m) + two single beds on a loft area reachable by a ladder, which will be only put if more than 2 people are renting the room. The room has a built-in wardrobe, standing fan and a private bathroom.

We designed the rooms with a lot of love, choosing natural materials such as wood and marble. Old vintage doors and old Egyptian tiles give the place a unique touch. You will find more details that make the place special.

Guest access
Apart from your private room with bathroom, you have access to the garden with pool, the rooftop and the parking area. In the garden you will find a kitchen from where we serve breakfast and drinks. Guests don't have access to the kitchen itself, but can order drinks and snacks from the counter.

Other things to note
There is an electricity shortage in Egypt, which leads to regular electricity cuts. During this time you will not be able to use any electrical devices (for example fans, ACs, fridges) as well as little to no water will be available as the pump is also run by electricity. These cuts can last from some minutes to some hours. As we do not have any influence on this, we do not refund any money if you experience electricity cuts while being our guest. Please stay chilled, use the pool in the summer during this time and enjoy the stars during the night without any light pollution :)

The little, pittoresque village of Tunis is located in the region of Fayoum, 2 - 2 1/2 hours drive from Cairo. It is overlooking lake Qaroun in a very green region full of agriculture. The desert is just a stone throw away and can be visited. Tunis is a very peaceful, beautiful and clean village. A lot of families are working within the field of pottery and you can shop for pottery or even take pottery classes yourself. You can go horseback riding and go for walks through the village, the fields and along the lake. There are some nice restaurants in the village.

Originally from Cairo, working as a swimming coach for professional swimmers, I made some years ago together with my German wife the decision to escape the hectic city life and to live in a more calm and peaceful place.
