Chez Serendip is a cultural and creative sanctuary held with quiet intention. While your stay in the Carriage House is entirely your own, the land has a gentle rhythm. You may notice an artist on a walk, soft music in the distance, or a small wellness session elsewhere on the property. These moments are quiet, optional, and designed to preserve guest tranquility.
If you feel curious, you are warmly invited to connect with founders Alisa and Shawn for a brief tour or conversation about the creative work unfolding here. Many guests enjoy learning the history and vision of the estate. You are equally welcome to enjoy complete privacy if that is what you prefer.
Guests may join public offerings during their stay or book the Dome or Carriage Room privately. Serendip Farms also offers guided horse rides, equine talk sessions, and creative photoshoots by reservation.
Guest access
You will have private access to the entire upstairs Carriage House including the living room, salon, formal dining room, full kitchen, bathroom, both bedrooms, the covered porch, and the large sun deck.

Other things to note
Chez Serendip is home to resident artists, gardens, animals, and wellness spaces arranged thoughtfully across the land. While your stay is private, the broader property may have occasional gentle activity. Workshops or sound journeys are always low volume, optional, and designed to maintain the peaceful environment. Guests receive complimentary or discounted entry to public events during their stay.
The Dome and the Carriage Room are beautiful communal spaces available for private booking. The Carriage Room includes a historic 1902 Steinway piano and may also be part of a quiet weekday tour for visitors interested in the estate’s history.
Horses, goats, dogs, cats, and wildlife live on the property. They remain in their own areas and are typically enjoyed from a distance as part of the natural landscape.
A detailed House Manual will be sent before your stay with fireplace notes, kitchen guidance, creative opportunities on the land, and tips for navigating this historic redwood property.
We look forward to welcoming you to this sanctuary of story, nature, and creativity.
