This cute 200 year old castle folly with a hot tub was restored with help from BBC’s ‘My Unique B&B' to give you a romantic experience in a beautiful rural setting.
Medieval themed features include panelled walls, skylight above the bed, and a knight!
Facilities include shower, TV, fridge freezer, heating, hob and outside seating.
Large hot tub with a beautiful view available for an additional charge.
Substantial breakfast pack provided.
With a village pub close by what’s not to love?
The space
This is a self contained 'tiny house' so as you would expect there's not a lot of space, and that is part of it's charm! You will be pleasantly surprised at what we have managed to fit into this small space.
With a seating area outside this is a great space for a romantic time away.
From 1st April - 30th September the hot tub is available for a fee of £75 for a two night stay and £25 for extra nights. 1st October - 31st March there is an additional charge of £25 per stay. From 1st April - 30th September most of the time the hot tub will have a showerproof canopy so you can still go in when it is raining. We cannot 100% guarantee it though as we need to remove it if it is windy.
For the winter months we have a heated floor downstairs, electric heater upstairs, electric blankets and extra blankets for the bed. It is an old building though with beautiful but single glazed drafty windows so if you feel the cold you might like to pack an extra woolly and warm socks!!
Downstairs, the kitchen area has all you need to be able to make a simple supper and a cooked breakfast, including a hob, pans, kettle and toaster. Basic foodstuffs e.g. salt, pepper, tea, coffee, oil and snacks are available. A welcome breakfast pack plus milk and orange juice are provided free of charge. There is a Nespresso machine and some capsules are provided. Fold-up table and chairs mean you can sit inside, or if you prefer there is an outdoor seating area. This is undercover and has pretty festoon lighting for the evening.
The bathroom includes a tucked away walk in shower. Towels are provided.
Upstairs is the bedroom. The beautiful panelled walls definitely give this room a 'wow' factor. The comfortable double bed has a medieval style headboard . Modern facilities in the room include phone chargers, a TV, electric heater and Wi-Fi. Above the bed is a large, gold trimmed skylight. You can watch the sun go down and the stars come out from your bed...how wonderful is that! There is a sliding cover to partially block out the light if you prefer.
The Folly itself is in one corner of a 200 year old walled garden and has a great history. it used to be the boiler house, heating water that ran along pipes in the walls, enabling pineapples to grow against them in lean-to greenhouses.
The garden is a fully enclosed walled garden. The area in front of the castle up to and including the garden bench is for you. There is a slight chance you may see us in the garden during the day but we will minimise this and won’t ever go out in the evening so you can be assured you will have your privacy if you eat outside or go in the hot tub.
If you would like to have a beautiful, bespoke picnic set up undercover in the outside area please contact Poshnics.
The property is on the edge of our picturesque sleepy village so any noise will be from wildlife or sheep in the field nearby!
Guest access
You will have access to the castle, the garden in front of the castle, a small pond (!) and the outdoor seating area next to it. If you have booked the hot tub then that as well.
The part of the garden you can’t see is private. Please note our house is in the garden close to the castle so you may see us coming and going very occasionally but we pride ourselves on giving our guests privacy when they are here. The hot tub is tucked around the side so we will never suddenly appear if you are in it! That is completely private.
Other things to note
This is a 200 year old building in a rural location. We keep it scrupulously clean but can’t guarantee a little spider, ant or other small insect might sometimes creep in!
There isn't any public transport to Priors Marston so you will need a car to get here and get around when you are here. If you aren’t coming by car we may be able to take you to and from the train station or airport, please just ask and if we can help we will.
The village has a good phone signal for ee and 3 , but others are not so great. O2 doesn't work at all Vodaphone is very weak.
We have an EV charger, which we will be happy for you to use for a fee. Just ask us about it before you get here.
Castle Folly is a great place to stay for relaxing, walking, cycling, and as a base to play golf, explore Leamington Spa and Stratford upon Avon, and of course for anyone interested in history (especially castles!) or looking for something very different. There are more suggestions on places to visit in our online welcome book which we will send you a link to when you book (not allowed in this description).
If you would like your experience to include a very special, elegant picnic at the castle please contact Poshnics. For more information go to poshnics.con/general-6.
