The space
1. There are 2 upper-level bedrooms in this house:

*TATAMI ROOM (Room no1) : for 2 heads occupants
- individual futon beds;
- spacious and with room privacy;

*FAMILY ROOM (Room no2) for occupants with more than 2 heads
- Best for parents and 1 kid;
- this room has built in Japanese sala, the middle room | serves as the common area.
-This room has 2 types of bed; 1 queen sized bed and 1 ready futon bed.
-depending on the availability, you can also request this room if you are max 3 heads in a family or even all adult of 3.

2. Lower Level Bedroom
NOTE: This room is for emergency requests, returnees and on call guests.
We can only reserve this room for you if you message us in advance.

The minimalist approach to every space is paired with sliding doors that makes you feel as though you are right in Japan's Edo Period.
There's a Shrine nearby where MATSURI event passes by every month of October.
The house is situated in a quiet residential street of Tsuruhara.
4 stations away from KIX (Kansai Int'l Airport) and only 4 minute walk from the train station that has a regular service from KIX to downtown Osaka. Note that there is no deadly stairs in our station | No long stairs in our station - good for travelers with heavy luggage. Senior and Kid Friendly.

kindly inform us the following before you arrive…
1. Estimated time of arrival
2. Location (we can give you the best route to reach us) TRAIN ROUTE.
3. Taxi Booking: for guests departing early morning with taxi request, please inform Bighem Maison right away. Taxi booking is at least 24 hours early before departure.
4. If you are arriving late night (22:00 onwards), We are requesting your group to be silent as much as possible | quiet at all times once your reached the premises to not disturb other guests with early flights the next day.

1. For our special big number of guests (maximum of 4 heads) who will stay in the house and wants to experience the true way of Japanese living, u can use the “whole second floor” out fully without sharing it with anyone else. Use everything in the property for yourself. But usually, bathroom and comfort room are shared with the owners | guests staying on first floor.

2. If you book us and you are only “2 heads” in total, individual futon beds are ready for your comfortable sleep. A spacious and separate room located at the second level of the building is waiting for you. TATAMI ROOM.
Note that bathroom, separate conservatory and common areas are all shared with other guests.

For Senior Citizen, PWD (person with disability) kindly inform us in advance so we could secure a room that is good for you and without stairs.

3. We don’t overcrowd the house. We can only maximize 5-6 heads for Japanese house is really Fragile.

4. The house is equipped with microwave, 2 fridge, 2 kettle, 3 hair dryers and complete utensils. Plus toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner and bath soap including 2 sets of towels for your daily necessities.
Cleaning on all common areas is everyday between 12 noon to 2pm.

5. We regret to inform you that we do not allow cooking in the house however, there are lots of establishments nearby where you can enjoy your breakfast lunch or dinner for a decent meal and cheap price.

7. The English version of Remote control for Heating and cold are also displayed in each room.

8. For guests with early flight the next day, with heavy luggage, who needs transportation taxi, we can book this in advance for you. Please inform us ahead of time.

9. For Luggage transport from Osaka to Tokyo or anywhere in JP, we are tied up with YAMATO in transporting your heavy luggage to your next destination. Kindly inform us ahead of time. Note that our respective Yamato Drivers are schedule to arrive between 6 to 9pm. Note that your parcel or luggage will definitely arrive in 2 days of time.

Matte's Japanese knowledge is very limited and understands a little Spanish language, speaks English fluently plus her mother tongue Tagalog.
Eric speaks French, English and Japanese Languages fluently.

This is Eric and Matte’s space for wood creations. All the inspirations in creating wood designs are in every corner of the house. Please be very vigilant on all the things in the property for all are naturally made by hand.

Rules at Bighem Maison. A Traditional 70 Year old Japanese Wooden House inspired with tatami Mats and comfy futon beds. Fully furnished and blended with an option of convenience and modern amenities with a good mix of Japanese comfort. Combined with Filipino and French hospitality and synthesis of style and means.

Check in time: 2PM (we are flexible on check in time, pls advise prior arrival especially if you will be coming later than 22:30 or 10:30PM)
Check out time: Please vacate the room 15mins before 12 Noon.

Important Notice for Late Arrivals:
If you are arriving later than 21:00, we kindly ask your group to:
• Handle your luggage quietly
• Maintain silence to avoid disturbing other guests, especially those with early flights the next day.

Note: Bedroom is not a place to eat in, we have a Japanese dining area where you can spend your work, dine, converse and drink your tea for relax.

Pls be reminded of the Following:

1. Bedroom is not a place to eat in, we have a typical Japanese dining area where you can spend your work, eat, talk and drink your tea for relax.
We will charge any incident of spilled colored stuffs on our futons (pillows, kakebuton and shikibuton)

2. Yes it’s really safe in Japan but please secure your things. Do not leave important belongings unattended in the common area. We will not be liable for any loss or damage of your personal belongings.

3. We provide clean rooms, clean toilet and clean bathroom plus other clean towels for you to use, pls handle all with care. Any discolored towels will be charged 1,500JPY.

4. We are a complete non-smoking property. NO SMOKING PLEASE.

5. Pls be quiet at night time by 10pm onwards
Watch a little on your "big steps" while taking the stairs for we are in wood house and it can also disturb the sleeping hours of other guests with early flight the next day.

6. Please leave the place clean as it was or practice CLAYGO (clean as you go) all the time.

We forbid to bring shoes at any place inside the house (there’s a designated place for shoes in the main door entrance) Please use the slippers provided. Tatami is a sacred place for Japanese to sleep, please do not bring your slippers nor shoes in the room.

7. Make yourself comfortable. For check-out, please inform us by using our inter connected phone (INTERCOM) before leaving. Kindly turn off the aircon or heater or fan, put back the key to its proper place and close your door before leaving.

• Please use Yamato Takyubin for all luggage deliveries.

2. Delivery Time
• Choose only morning delivery (8:00 AM – 12:00 noon)

• Kindly send the tracking form for monitoring purposes.

• We do not accept CHAKUBARAI (Cash on Delivery) or Pay at the Property.
Please ensure all delivery charges are paid.

• Japan Post or Other Couriers:
For deliveries using Japan Post or other services, we cannot monitor parcels 24 hours a day unless we are informed at least 10 days before arrival.
• Unmonitored Parcels:
Any unmonitored parcels will be automatically forwarded to the main office of the courier company you used.
• Parcel Claiming Policy:
Bighem Maison is not authorized to claim guest parcels on your behalf.
You must present your passport when claiming parcels.

We will inform the guest immediately right after we receive the luggage | parcel and keep it until your arrival date.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Neighborhood is quiet and homey. BIGHEM MAISON ビッグヘム メゾン is situated on a quiet residential street of Tsuruhara, Izumisano City, Osaka. A great way to experience the actual Japanese town.

Just 4mins walk from the train station which has a regular service from Kansai airport to downtown Osaka. 5min-15min walk from different establishments as well as being close to local shops, supermarket, authentic clothing shops, post office and many more. With number of fine restaurants in the area plus a 24-hour Japanese food chain (Sukiya, Hatago Sushi, Marugo RaMen, Lawson, Pisola (italian restaurant), McDonalds, Ubei Sushi (made to order) .

GETTING AROUND THE AREA: Because the house is very near the local train station of Tsuruhara, it is fast to visit Tourist spots. Bighem Maison is just 4min walk from the train station and in NANKAI Line area.
This is the most convenient railway for tourist destinations like Namba, Central Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, Kobe and Wakayama.
Going back the airport is more convenient too! Bighem Maison is just 4 stations away from Kansai Airport.
