Play pool, foosball, ping pong, darts or our arcade game! Chill on our reclining sofa; watch movies or the game. Lake, slopes, shops & restaurants nearby but you may not want to leave the house!
The space
+3 bedrooms with 5 beds - new mattresses, pillows and luxury linens. All high-quality and impeccably clean. New as of May 2025 - leather couch with reclining seats/headrests, leather recliner, dining room set and master bedroom set. We are constantly perfecting our mountain retreat!
+2.5 bathrooms, heated tiles, towel warmer, soaking tub with stunning views in master bath, plush robes.
+Brand new central heat and air-conditioning. Many short term rentals in the area lack AC. Note that the downstairs tends to run a few degrees cooler than the rest of the house. We have multiple space heaters on hand.
+Great room with gas fireplace (don’t use firewood in the gas fireplace). We also have a wood burning stove off the kitchen, near the back patio, where you can burn real wood. You’re welcome to bring firewood for the wood burning stove.
+Large flat screen tvs with streaming services in living room, bedrooms with queen and king size beds and upstairs game room.
+Peloton, rowing machine, free weights and other workout gear in garage, plus a new wood sauna, for adult-use only upon request. This is located in the garage.

Relax around one of our fire tables in our comfy chairs. Sit with your person in our new outdoor swing as you take in our spectacular views or take a nap in our hammock. Everyone loves our jacuzzi, with room for your entire group and a new heat retaining cover to keep it at the perfect temp. We recommend checking the temp as soon as you arrive and making any adjustments you’d like, as it takes some time to heat up/cool down. We’ve elevated our outdoor space just in time for summer! Please be sure to clean the grill and keep it covered when not in use.

+Decor of the entire house changes with the seasons. It’s a sparkling winter wonderland when it’s cold outside; a space that will make you want to light a fire and curl up with a steaming mug and a great book or movie. We switch it up to summer camp, lake vibes when the weather warms up; think long nights under the stars, barbecuing and roasting s’mores (not on the fire table please - we provide a s’mores maker).
When you stay with us during the holiday season, the house is beautifully decorated with two Christmas trees, four stockings hung on the mantle, festive, holiday fun for the entire family! Your host painstakingly decorates the house - you show up, relax and ENJOY!

+Dog-friendly with advance payment of pet fee ($100 per dog, per stay - up to 2 dogs). We have everything for our furry friends, including pet crate, toys, treats, poop bags, etc. Dogs must be kept on furniture. We do not allow any other types of animals.
+New pack-n-play and other infant gear, toys, toddler sized table and four chairs, forest themed stuffed animals, art supplies, and books - located upstairs in the game room and the downstairs bedroom with the bunkbeds.
+Unlike many other short-term rentals in the area, we do NOT ask our guests to take their trash to the dump. Who wants to do that on vacation?! Instead, we pay a service to handle the trash. We just ask that you please throw it away downstairs in the bins next to the garage. Please make sure the lids are closed to avoid animals rummaging for food.
+Checkout may be extended if we don't have a reservation immediately following yours. Please message Kaye to request a late checkout. We’re also happy to allow you to check in early if the house is ready. Note: as you’ll see from our reviews, we go out of our way to give our guests as much time as possible in the house. We’ve almost always been able to grant early check ins/late check outs. Snow season is the busiest time of year when we may not be able to allow an early check in/late check out, but we do our best to accommodate all requests.
Guest access
We welcome you to enjoy our beautiful home! There are small locked closets in the game room that contain our personal items but otherwise, it’s all yours. We ask that you please park in the driveway (two vehicles will fit back-to-back in the driveway). Adult guests are welcome to use the exercise equipment (Peloton, free weights, etc.) and the private sauna located in the garage. Please be sure to wipe down the exercise equipment and sauna with provided wipes after each use. The garage is not accessible to minors. Please ask your host for the garage code if you wish to enjoy the exercise equipment and/or sauna.
Other things to note
Guest must be at least 25 years of age to reserve. We require a copy of a government issued ID from the person who books the reservation and each adult who will be staying at the house.
We are dog friendly! Dogs are an additional $100 per dog, per stay (up to 2 dogs max). This is what our housekeepers charge to deep clean, manage the fur and other cleanups. We provide dog bowls, doggie bags, treats, a medium sized crate and dog bed. Dogs must be well-behaved and potty trained. If you leave the house, please take your dog(s) with you or crate them. Dogs cannot left unattended inside the house while you are gone. Dogs should be kept off the furniture please. We do not allow any other types of pets.
Dogs should not be left unattended outside (Big Bear in in the national forest with wildlife all around). Please be sure to clean up after your dog, both inside and outside. Please throw dog poop bags inside the trash cans out front.
Our home and driveway are located on a slope. There are about 20 stairs leading to the front door and two flights of stairs inside. Our guests should be able to climb stairs and generally be in good health. PLEASE USE CAUTION AND HANDRAILS WHILE WALKING UP AND DOWN THE STAIRS AT ALL TIMES. Particularly when it's wet/raining/snowing, the stairs may be icy. Guests must refrain from any horseplay on or around the stairs. Owners are not responsible for any slips, falls or injuries while at our home.
All holiday weekends require a minimum of 3 nights’ stay.
Remember to carry tire chains or cables in your car during winter months. The Big Bear website has detailed information on tire chains and local weather conditions. We do not offer any refunds due to weather or power outages. We recommend purchasing trip insurance to protect your stay.
We reserve the right to terminate your stay without refund if you exceed the maximum occupancy of 8 guests and 2 cars (which is dictated by our short-term rental permit). Guest totals will be verified by external facing OUTDOOR cameras. We do not have any indoor cameras. Please notify your host, Kaye, of your guest/dog count in advance of your stay. If you bring a dog without advance notice or if you bring more than two dogs, the fee will be $100 per night, per dog. We will terminate your stay if you bring more than two dogs.
Big Bear strictly enforces occupancy and car limitations. Note that toddlers, and infants DO count as a person for purposes of our maximum occupancy of 8. Please do arrive with more than the maximum or you could be fined from the city and immediately evicted with no money back.
Our private jacuzzi is available 24 hours a day with quiet hours before 10 am and after 10 pm. Please respect our neighbors. Note that the jacuzzi is not fenced. Guests must follow the rules posted near the jacuzzi, including monitoring children at all times and showering before entering the jacuzzi. Please do not throw any trash around or behind the jacuzzi. Be sure the cover is on when you are not using the jacuzzi.
We have EXTERIOR security cameras only, which face away from the house. We do not have any interior cameras. We respect our guests’ privacy. Our cameras are primarily used for security when no one is at the house. We only use them to verify guest/car counts when we have guests.
Fire arms are prohibited anywhere on the property. Do not bring any guns with you.
Our home has MANY wonderful amenities. If you use the exercise equipment or sauna, please be sure it wipe it down with the Lysol wipes we’ve provided nearby. Please clean the barbecue grill and be sure it’s covered when it’s not in use. There will be a $35 fee for our cleaners to clean the barbecue if it’s left dirty. Similarly, please be sure to clean the popcorn machine and margarita machine if you use either of them.
Please note that we only rent to guests with an established history of positive Airbnb reviews and a profile photo. If you don’t have any reviews and are interested in staying with us, check with other members of your party who may have an Airbnb profile with reviews. We do not make any exceptions to this rule.
